Louis Johnson, a former friend of OJ Mayo, says that Tim Lewis gave money directly to OJ Mayo's "handler", Rodney Guillory.
If this turns out to be true, this clearly would mean HUGE trouble for USC and probably intensify the USC football allegations as well.

How do they prove it?
"He gave money to O.J. Mayo directly"
"No I didn't"
"Oh welll... crap"

Yeah, I know. But somehow in these cases, the word of the guy giving information somehow gets held in higher regard than the guy who's being accused of taking money.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this story were true, but the term "FORMER friend" makes me wonder if there is a possibility that this guy is just a guy who got left in the dust when his friend hit it big time.

The "confidant" actually, has been arrested before for selling cocaine and other drugs. He's been talking to the NCAA for a while now cause this has been going on since last year.

O.J. Mayo is fine living it up in the NBA right now. USC and Floyd are the ones in trouble

Mayo's reputation is going to be stained badly. He'll have to be the next Jordan if he wants to live it off.

If any of this is true, USC basketball is screwed. Think SMU football.

Yeah, this could be a huge killer for USC bball. I had a hard time hearing O.J. Mayo shocked Tim Floyd and USC bball by just faxing a copy of his LOI. Mayo's rep will be stained a bit, but it isn't anything that can't be lived down. Mayo will never come close to being Jordan, and may never be anything more than an NBA all-star, but I have a gut feeling that the NCAA will be ready to throw the book at USC in basketball, if not football because they seem to be good at getting away with probably a lot more than they're assused of.

O.J. Mayo is in TROUBLE...
That's actually the farthest from the truth as you can get.
The only people who could be in trouble are Tim Floyd, USC, the agent, or the guy who claims he saw this go down.
OJ Mayo is NOT culpable in this matter, at all. No one will do anything to him. Which is the part I find most saddening. All of these athletes can take the money and play for the schools for 1 (or 2) years and then hit the NBA and make even more money with zero worries.

^^^Great point. It's amazing how in this situation perhaps the most guilty party of all is the one that gets off scott-free. Some people hate their school's coaches because they won't succumb to the pressure of paying off players to come to their schools. All the players have as motivation is pure financial greed.
