Love this trade for the Nets. While VC started to finally act like a leader last year and play with some heart, I believe he did it in hopes of being traded and also hoping to work his way for another decent sized contract. IMO, this move by the Magic means that they doubt they can resign Turkoglu. If they try to make a serious run to resign him, then this trade makes even less sense for them. VC will be a liability on the defensive end and a decent player on the offensive end.
The Nets get back a young shooter in Courtney Lee who will be a perfect kickout for when Devin Harris drives and dishes the rock. They're young, but I'm loving how athletic this Nets team will be for the next few years. It might even persuade me to going to see more than 5 games of theirs this year. Look at the athletes now on this team: Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Terrence Williams, CDR, Sean Williams (starting to turn the corner a bit), Rafer Alston, Brook Lopez, and Josh Boone (not a good player, but can run the floor). If I'm Lawrence Frank, I'm playing up tempo, run the floor offense and I'm pressing all game long.

Agreed. I think it was good for both sides but I'd give the edge to the Nets.

The Nets have a very promising future. They have an incredibly young and talented roster right now and the cap space to add a mega star in 2010.
