Reporteddly Cabrera lost 15 pounds working out with a trainer in the last 3 weeks. I mean Prince Fielder is fat and he is the best hittr in the NL

But with weight issues that's gotta put a strain on his body especially his knees. This could add to an increase in injuries and more time on the DL as he gets older. I mean he's more of a risk being overweight, I suppose the Tigers think he is worth it.

I don't think the weight is an issue at all. This is a 24 year old player who has been to 4 all star games...you all make it seem like he is a 35 year old veteran.

I'd be concerned anytime a team wants to unload a player with his credentials.

I totally agree...MLB needs to contract the league by 2 teams and just have a draft for all of the free agents (major and minor league players).

Some teams just have no business being a franchise and the talent is too diluted in MLB because of it.

Florida and Tampa need to go.

Well, the trade they made wasn't a total giveaway. They got some pretty promising talent in return. Many in Detroit are questioning this. Detroit has mortgaged it's future before. 1984, Detroit gives up a young John Smoltz for Doyle Alexander. One example of many.
