Bears get their revenge, or Colts force Rex Grossman into four turnovers again?

Game is on 8 pm on ESPN.

Bears are favored by 3, total is 37.5.

I took the Bears -2.5 earlier today. Shame because Colts opened -3.

The Bears have the better backups in my opinion, which is what the preseason comes down to.

Bears get the first first down of the game. Nice first throw by Rex Grossman.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:10 PM
Nice play by safety Matt Giordano to stop that screen.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:13 PM
Whoa, great pass by Grossman - scrambled left and fired a laser to Bernard Berrian 27 yards downfield.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:14 PM
Grossman loses a fumble, what a surprise.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:17 PM
Manning to Wayne, 20 yards. It's too easy.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:18 PM
Great sack by Ogunleye, setting up 3rd-and-long.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:23 PM
Colts are stopping the run well. Benson has only 10 yards on five carries.

Walter

Grossman loses a fumble, what a surprise.

Grossman throws a pick right into an Indianapolis' defender's hands. What a surprise.

How much does Grossman suck?

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:25 PM
Colts down to the one-fmpth line.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:26 PM
Great stop by the Bears on 3rd-and-inches. Colts should go for it. Why not?

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:26 PM
Incomplete! What a stand by Chicago's defense!

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:27 PM
Another Grossman turnover is coming, so don't worry.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:29 PM
Grossman fumbles again! At least he didn't lose it this time.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:30 PM
That drive is mercifully over. Bears defense or special teams need to score.

Looks like the same old Grossman. Fumble fumble INT.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:35 PM
Way too easy for the Colts. Is it me, or does it seem like the Colts waste downs by running the ball?

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:36 PM
Looks like the same old Grossman. Fumble fumble INT.

Yeah, this is exactly why I listed him near the bottom of my Quarterback Rankings.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:37 PM
If the Colts score here, I think Manning, Harrison, Wayne and Addai are done.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:39 PM
There it is, goodbye starters (hopefully).

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:43 PM
Why are the Colts running an onside kick? That's bush league.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:46 PM
Thanks for the 5-yard penalty, Dungy!

Danieal Manning returns to the 19.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:46 PM
I'm sensing another Grossman turnover coming up.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:47 PM
Great drive by the Bears. Six freakin' yards.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:48 PM
7-3 Colts

After seeing a replay of that INT again, it looked to be more the fault of Rashied Davis. Numerous times last year, he made no attempt to make a play on balls, and simply allowed them to be intercepted.

Walter
08-20-2007, 07:56 PM
As I thought, Colts starters are out. Indy going three-and-out. Michelle Tafoya interviewing everyone in sight.

Let's hope no one makes a similar mistake like that again.

Grossman Fumble No. 3!

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:03 PM
Touchdown Bears, 10-7!

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:06 PM
Bears recover T.J. Rushing's fumble

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:06 PM
That drive is mercifully over. Bears defense or special teams need to score.

Special teams coming through.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:08 PM
I've never said Griese should replace Grossman, because Griese is even worse, if that's even possible.

The Bears need a "real" veteran QB.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:09 PM
Touchdown Griese to Berrian, just seconds after I bashed the former.

17-7 Bears.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:15 PM
This Sorgi-to-Moorehead connection is unstoppable.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:16 PM
Bears 17, Colts 14.

Sorgi to Moorehead. Exactly what I was fearing when handicapping this game.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:25 PM
Tirico was right, that should have been holding.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:26 PM
Wow, the Bears were pretty dumb for taking that time out. Colts have 1:10 to score with good field position after that missed 53-yarder.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:28 PM
Anthony Gonzalez is really fast.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:32 PM
Halftime, 17-17

I've always felt that Sorgi could make a good starting QB somewhere, he has had the honor of being the student of Peyton Manning for a number of years now.

I'm getting tired of hearing about Vick, we get it, he is guilty, WE ALL KNEW THAT. You don't have to keep saying the same things over and over again, such as "what is your reaction", "where does Vick go from here", and showing the same clip of Vick walking in and out of court. Stop dwelling on the rotten apples of the NFL and give the good guys some of your airtime, ESPN.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:39 PM
Great take on Vick, I couldn't agree more.

Sorgi does look really solid right now.

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:53 PM
Tafoya: You really suck! How does it feel to suck that much?
Grossman: Yeah, I suck so much you're going to have to watch me while the game's on the smaller screen! Ha!

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:55 PM
Big conversion on 3rd-and-11

Walter
08-20-2007, 08:57 PM
Griese is 9-of-12, 97 yards, 1 TD. Great job.

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:01 PM
What an incredible catch by No. 84. Low throw, he scooped it one inch off the ground.

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:04 PM
Site was down for a few minutes, server needed to be restarted apparently.

24-17 Bears

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:05 PM
Kevin House of Payne picks off Sorgi (I think - can't tell because ESPN is interviewing the entire team)

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:10 PM
Field goal, Bears

27-17

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:17 PM
Great coverage by Corey Graham, coverage on 3rd-and-1.

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:21 PM
Mike Hass just made a great catch 25 yards downfield.

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:30 PM
Corey Graham picks off Josh Betts. Another touchdown will do it.

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:32 PM
LOL quick three-and-out, so much for a touchdown.

Walter
08-20-2007, 09:56 PM
This is going to be a long four minutes.

Walter
08-20-2007, 10:03 PM
27-24... Glad I grabbed that -2.5 last night.

Walter
08-20-2007, 10:06 PM
Game over, congrats to anyone who played the Bears with me.

The 1st and 2nd string D-line on the Bears played well. The Colts starting O-line also played well, though guys were getting in a little more often than usual.

The Bears don't have much depth behind their starting O-line. An injury or two there would hurt them more than anywhere else. Orton continues to look like he has improved.

good looking out walt!

Adam Mac
08-21-2007, 07:42 PM
Besides all the turnovers Rex didn't look that bad. Orton was studly.. If ther Bears can go 2-0 in first two games against the NFLs best RBs they will go to the SuperBowl again

Yeah, but it's the turnovers that make him so bad
