Here's how I would fix this team. First a look at who I would target, followed by the things I would fix. A mock depth chart is at the end.

To my knowledge everyone in the lists below is a UFA after this year. *'s represent how happy I would be if we signed this player. More is better obviously.

#1 LT and LG
Marcus McNeill San Diego LT ****
Logan Mankins New England LG *****
Eugene Amano Tennessee LG ***

#2 RB
LenDale White Tennessee RB **
Darren Sproles San Diego RB **
Ronnie Brown Miami RB ****

#3 S
Dawan Landry Baltimore. S ***
Roman Harper New Orleans S ***
O.J. Atogwe St. Louis S ****

#4 DE
Julius Peppers from Carolina DE *****
Richard Seymour Oakland DE ***
Elvis Dumervil Denver DE/OLB *****

#5 WR
Brandon Marshall Denver WR ***
Miles Austin Dallas WR ***
Braylon Edwards NYJ WR ****

Here's how I would fix the problems Seattle has:

Cap Space(so we can sign free agents): I would cut or trade Walter Jones, Patrick Kerney, Deion Branch and Julius Jones. Possibly Cory Redding and Kelly Jennings too. None of them are standout players. Walter is too old, so is Kerney. Deion Branch and Julius Jones are terrible and past their prime. I think Redding could be a valuable player with his ability to play DE and DT, but not at the expense of being unable to sign someone else. Jennings probably needs to go, but he hasn't been as bad so far this year.

Offensive Line: With those players gone we should have room to sign McNeill and Mankins. I doubt either of them get franchised. The Chargers have a ton of high profile free agents and the Patriots definitely need to franchise Vince Wilfork.

Running Back: Lendale White is probably as good as gone from Tennessee. He would be a great change of pace back for Forsett. His numbers aren't great this year behind Chris Johnson, and I bet we could get him for a decent price. I seriously doubt Ronnie Brown gets out of Miami, and Sproles and Forsett are very similar in their running styles. I would also look to add depth in the draft(Round 2).

Wide Receiver: We have lots of money and little production from this position. Fixing the run game and pass protection will help, but we should definitely be on the lookout for help later in the draft, especially since we need to cut Branch.

Safety: Atogwe is probably too much to ask for, as he will likely be franchised. Landry or Harper would be a huge upgrade at this point.

Pass Rush: We have a lot invested in our front 7 and not a lot to show for it. After fixing the OL this is the top priority. I don't see us being able to sign two top tier offensive linemen AND an elite defensive end, so I would likely have to settle for drafting someone. As things are we're probably going to be selecting in the vicinity of pick #10 and the top defensive linemen are off the board (Suh and McCoy). Derrick Morgan has flown up draft boards recently, and he might even be gone by the time we pick. Alternatives would be Carlos Dunlap(Florida) or Jason Pierre-Paul(South Florida).

Corner: I saved this for last because this is probably our most glaring need. Fitzgerald, Boldin, Breaston, Crabtree and Avery are all great receivers, and we don't have the talent to match them. Fixing our pass rush will help immensely, but we still need someone to cover them. I think that our best chance would be to take someone with our second first round pick. We will likely be around 20th-25th, right where many project Patrick Robinson(Florida State).

So if everything went according to plan, here would be our roster for next year. I left off some of the fringe players.

QB Hasselbeck/Wallace/Teel
RB Lendale White/Forsett/Jonathan Dwyer or C.J. Spiller or Jahvid Best
FB Griffith/Owens
LT Marcus McNeill/Locklear
LG Logan Mankins or Eugene Amano/Sims
C Chris Spencer/Unger/Vallos
RG Rob Sims/Unger
RT Locklear/Willis
TE Carlson/Owens
WR Houshmandzadeh/Burleson/Obomanu/Butler

DE Derrick Morgan/Jackson/Tapp/Reed/Redding/Walker
DT Mebane/Cole/Bryant/Redding/Terrill
OLB Curry/Hill/Hawthorne
MLB Tatupu/Hawthorne/Herring
CB Trufant/Lucas/Josh Wilson/Patrick Robinson/Jennings
S Grant/Roman Harper/Babineaux/Adams/Wallace

With our fourth round pick, I would probably take the BPA at the DB or WR position, while on the lookout for defensive or offensive linemen.

How would you feel about drafting a qb in round 2-3 and have him sit behind MH for a season or two and take his place when he is gone?

great situation to bring a new guy in with a Vet in place and not forcing him to start rookie year. Think Rodgers and Rivers(although both first rd picks)

It would depend on who I have coaching. I don't see any of the current staff "developing" a QB.

No thanks. The success rate of 2nd round and later QBs is just too low to think that they're going to be a starter. If I remember right you have something like a 7% chance of getting a decent starter with a 2nd or 3rd round pick in the last 15 years. If we're going with a developmental project we might as well stick with Teel. He has good arm strength, ideal size, and he was playing very good football at the end of the season. All the guys that are supposed to be 2nd or 3rd round prospects this year have no arm strength, so no thanks.

If I was GM I would re-sign Brian Russell for his grittiness and determination despite actual ability.

Then I'd give Colin Cole a 19 year contract extension and donuts for life.

Next, I release Burleson and Housh and re-sign Courtney Taylor and Jordan Kent. Plenty of speed and athleticism without actual catching.

I trade Hasselbeck for a 5th rounder to Chicago for Rex Grossman. He becomes immediate starter behind my offensive line of Orlando Pace Khalif Barnes, Steve Vallos, Chilo Rachal, and [Redskins right tackle].

Our running back situation changes. No more Force or Jones. Instead we re-sign Shaun Alexander to relive the good ol' days.

I would fire Knapp and hire Jim Zorn as offensive coordinator and playcaller. Our entire playbook would consist of stretch runs and 3 yard passes and the ever tricky "angled punt".

On defense I keep Kelly Jennings and sign Carlos Rogers in free agency whilst trading Trufant.

All of our LBs go and instead we have only Bobby Carpenter at LB. Only 1 LB. One.

Our front four remains the same except we get rid of Redding and Mebane and clone Colin Cole.

Championship. :)

LOL. Good luck trying to sign both McNeil and Mankins.

If you're going to dream, might as well dream big.

If you're going to dream, might as well dream big because Allen had an endless supply of money.

I'd like to see Seattle try and get Brady Quinn if Cleveland end up drafting a new QB. He could actually learn something sitting behind Hasselbeck.

Isn't Mankins going to be a RFA if the CBA isn't extended?

All signs currently point to the CBA not being extended, so the chances of Mankins walking away from New England seem pretty slim to me.
