Is there anyway to reduce the amount of spam getting posted and bots registering e.g. adding verification codes or whatever to the registration form?

I really haven't noticed much spam... Maybe I'm not checking it regularly enough? But I don't think adding a verification code at registration is a bad idea

adding a verification code will help a lot imo.

Hey Walter, quick question what exactly happens when we had that spam bot? Does it just clog up the site and is anything posted? Also, how ddi you get rid of it? Sorry so many quesitons I'm just interested

They would come on with a name like "InTheAss" and post porn or like "BuyPills" and post places were to buy pills. Bann there name and IP to get rid of them

The spambot sent thousands of e-mails to my site to the following e-mails:

admin@walterfootball.com
walter@walterfootball.com
walterfootball@walterfootball.com
webmaster@walterfootball.com
etc.
etc.

None of those e-mails exist so they bounced back to one e-mail address. That clogged the server. So, we just put up a firewall to block these e-mails.
