Cardinals place starting RT Oliver Ross on IR

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals placed starting right tackle Oliver Ross on injured reserved with a triceps injury on Monday, ending his season.

Ross, who signed a five-year contract with Arizona in 2005, was injured in the preseason opener at Oakland. He will be replaced by Levi Brown, the team's first-round draft pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

This is a good thing for the Cardinals. Levi Brown will improve tremendously as the season goes on. I honestly didn't think that much separated him and Thomas in the draft, worthy of that #5 overall selection imo.

The thing is, Joe Staley might emerge as the top tackle in that class.
