Alex Barron and Richie Incognito to the Chiefs for Tamba Hali Ty Law and the Chiefs 5th rounder
Is this realistic?
Matt McGuire

This is bull****. Tamba Hali would NEVER be traded he was a first round pick 2 years ago and he has been playing pretty well.
This **** is getting out of hand. Plus why would the Rams trade Barron he still makes a very good RT.
Matt McGuire

Wait...a trade not involving the Bills?

I think if someone wants to trade someone we should let them. Is it realistic probably not but none of those guys are pro bowlers.

Okay so they aren't pro bowlers...since when did the pro bowl get it right?
Oh yeah...automatically Joe Thomas, Fred Taylor, and Tanard Jackson are on the trading block. Give me a break.
Matt McGuire

Tamba Hali would never be traded unless for a high first round draft pick (top 10).
I mean why start over and accept a low first rounder? It isn't worth it.
The lines must be drawn somewhere. Some guys are just getting away with robbery.

I know it’s fun but I don’t think trades should be allowed. Everybody will get too fancy with too many disagreements. The bad outweighs the good. I’m not involved, it’s just my opinion. I like to make things easier.

Who would give a top 10 pick for Hali?

01-03-2008, 11:53 AM
I agree with Matt here.Trades should be made with positions of depth and making teams better without depleating talent. The guy you get from the Draft should be as impactful as the guy you traded for them if you trade with picks. I dont think trades that will not help both sides equally should be accepted. Player for Draft Pick deals you cant judge but Player for Player deals should be equal.

Thank you for making my point for me. He is untradable.

Moss for a 4th wasn't equal.

Moss had 2 strait bad seasons and had attitude problems. Very few people would have traded for Moss at that time.

Exactly and why can't we trade players for similar reasons. Some things are and addition by subtraction. Moss didn't have bad years he just didn't have Moss years.

yea that trade is ridicoulous. C'mon people don't make it too complicated. I mean NFL GMs don't. Usually its a player for a pick. Or 2 lower picks for a higher one. KISS. By the way that's how I'm approaching this for the Jets.
Trade me your 2nd and 3rd round for Vilma not some combination of a 3rd, 4th, Reggie Bush's GF, and a can of spermacide for Vilma. Cause I will hit you.

They're probably future Pro Bowlers anyway, but who cares about the Pro Bowl.
My vote is no on this one. The guys are to young.

Moss for a 4th wasn't equal.
In hindsight no. But there were a lot of people that questioned Moss's talent again and his hustle/character.
Plus Moss demanded to go to the Patriots so the Oakland Raiders had absolutely no leverage in that trade and New England took advantage.

On The Block - 1st Round pick for Reggie Bush's g/f
5th round pick for some good spermicide.

How about something like 2 trades per GM. Maybe things like this could help.
Matt McGuire
01-03-2008, 12:44 PM
I agree with Guapo...Bills_Red is done lol.
I say like 2 player trades max and 2 draft day trades max...some teams make a lot of deal but usually nothing more than 4-7 in the offseason.

I don't think there should be any holdbacks on this. Outside of Tom Brady Peyton Manning type guys. Champ and a 2nd went for Clinton Portis. I can understand rookie 1st round picks but other than that we should say no if the 2 gms agree.

Yeah but the Champ/Portis trade was a very rare trade (just like Keyshawn for Galloway)...and lets throw that one out the window because Dan Snyder is an idiot.

None of these proposed rade are even for guys of that caliber and who's to say it would never happen again and some of us would make Snyder look like a genius.

What if it is a draft Pick/player mixed deal? Or if the team is in the middle of a deal when this rule came into effect. What if Im not done making my trade with the Chiefs when you put this in and their GM has used all their deals up? Am I to be penalized for a rule that was put in late when this is my first and possibly only trade?

I don't care what happens, but hopefully the second time through this is way less complicated.

^ I agree there should not be any limits cause there are no limits in the NFL.
We need to keep this real but that trade isn't insane. I wouldnt see that trade ever happening though.

I imagine you wouldn't care about another GM. That is the nature of this. Get your picks and be concerned with yourself first. Matt and Walter have to because they are like Commissioners so they have two jobs.

Did he forget to mention that I am sending Brian Waters his way? It makes sense to us in that he gets a CB, Guard and DL and I get OL help plus the ability to replace Hali with a high draft pick

Good points but look at MLB and everywhere across professional sports. The Red Sox drive up the FA prices and trades of the Yankees all the times and other teams put other teams in check, especially in their dvisions.
Gruden every year lies in the draft about who he is going to draft. Aaron Rodgers and the other "Alex Smith" in 2005. Yeah right they were never gonna draft those guys. Then last year he lied about wanting to add Adrian Peterson to scare teams and ****.

Isn't Waters going to retire?
Matt McGuire

You get OL help but you trade Brian Waters (and yes he is going to retire).

I wouldn't give up next years 7th for Waters cause he ain't gonna play.

I would not support anything like that unless you reset all trades and start from scratch. The only fair way to do it.
titan_qb_3
01-03-2008, 06:38 PM
ok even if Waters is gonna retire(which he hasn't yet) he still accepted it the other way I just threw Waters in there to clear some cap room

So what is the final decision on this trade?????
RaidaNation
01-03-2008, 10:18 PM
IMO, you never really see many trades in "real life" w/ the NFL.With that said, most mocks would not be as fun either w/out having trades. This particular trade isn't even.Ritchie is coming off a serious injury & is still unknown if he can even play.Hali is going into his what 3rd or 4th yr.If I was apart of a board, my vote would be no.
The point of allowing trades is to have fun BUT keep them within a realistic realm.

Hali is still learning BUT he continues to come into his own each year.

I think this trade should be left for Madden...
On second thought this trade probably wouldn't even work on madden unless you owned both teams.
