It's factually correct that every homer thinks their FB is the best. Except for the Bills, as 90% of their fans probably do not know who Corey McIntyre is. But, then again, leave it to an NFL team to keep a FB on their roster that they never play.

Haha yeah I made that same point about homers as well.
So, you think McIntyre is the best?
I'll be the first to admit that I don't pay that much attention to Fullbacks but in terms of the total package I'd probably go for Lawrence Vickers. Leonard Weaver is a pretty dope runner though

I had to leave out some. Greg Jones is more a RB type.
I voted Hedge**** because he's the best blocker. He's basically another OL. That's what a FB should be. F*ck 'em up.

I voted Hedec@ck also....I agree with above post . He always blocks well and creates lanes for his RB.

Gotta go with Leonard Weaver. Good blocker and a great short yardage option for the Eagles.

Leonard Weaver always makes big 20+ yard plays. But the real question is, who doesn't get 20+ yard plays on the Eagles?

IR, I doubt he converted ALL of his short yardage opportunities with the Eagles this year...
I am waiting to hear how Lou is not the best FB in the league.

**** that ****ing website. And if you're going to act like that place is the end all to the "who is better" discussions please give Ovie Mughelli his props for being the best FB evarrrr. Forgive my sharp response, but people posting links to that site and then not posting anything to say on their own has really been grinding my gears.
First off, Polite has one of the best run blocking offensive lines in the NFL to make his job easier, and he has two great backs to block for in Brown and Williams. Weaver got to block for an old, worn out Westbrook and a rookie while the Eagles line, although massive, is built for Andy Reid's passing attack. Then you have the Wildcat, which allows Miami to run all over the place. Put anyone in front of Brown and Williams and that line and they'll look good. His job as far as run blocking is much easier than Weaver's IMO. If you want to argue that Polite is better that's fine, but after this is where I think Weaver starts to pull away.
When it comes to pass blocking Weaver is expected to do way more. The Eagles use more 3 and 4 WR sets and when Westbrook was out Weaver was often in there as the lone back on passing downs. Through all of that, the man didn't give up a sack all year.
Being a threat on offense is where I think the biggest difference is. Polite is great at converting in short yardage situations, there's no arguing there (although again Miami has one of the best run blocking lines out there). However, that's pretty much what he's limited to as his 3.3 ypc suggests. Weaver also excels in short yardage situations. That's a big reason why Andy Reid brought him in and although 3rd and 1 has been a huge problem for Philadelphia historically Weaver has done a great job at picking those up this year. He's much more than just short yardage back though. As a runner he's actually a threat to pick up big gains and take it to the house. I'm not sure about the last one but three of his touchdowns (Polite only had 1) were the direct result of him making plays.
You can argue about who's the better run blocker although I think you will find that people will rank them closely, but when it comes to pass blocking and what they do with their carries, the clear edge has to go to Weaver.

One, we abandoned the Wildcat once Ronnie got hurt.
Two, Miami's guards are average at best, so the tackles and teh center can run block very well but the guards cant.
Three, Miami had one of the WORST passing attacks in the league until Henning let Henne air it out, so teams were stacking the box. Miami does not have a DeSean Jackson that forces teams to double cover him, so teams stack the box, which they cannot do in Philly.
Four, EVERYONE and their mother knew that on 3rd/4th <2, we would run the ball with Polite and EVERY time it succeeded.
Five, Philly runs a variation of the WCO that does not require people to block for very long and it helps when there is a vet back there. McNabb is still a very good QB and Henne is a rookie and struggled early. Miami also does not run a WCO.
Six, until late in the year when Miami had like no other running back, Polite was only getting carries in short yardage situations, so of course his YPC would be low.
Seven, Miami did not have the pleasure of beating up the Bears and 49ers, and the three crappy teams in the AFC West, like Philly did, which will affect the numbers.
Eight, Weaver also fumbles the ball more, and he had two in the playoff disaster against Dallas, is the more recent example.
Nine, Polite was open often but missed a lot by Henne in the passing game, due to the fact that Henne still needs to work on his touch throw.
Ten, late in the year, Miami was still able to run the ball well despite Ricky being hobbled and Ronnie on his annual trip to the IR.

Weaver caught 39 balls out of the backfield in Seattle in 2007 and his career yards per catch number is 9.2 which is outstanding even for a RB.
