Bryant has to be the pick here. The Browns are seriously lacking offensive playmakers. They had an absolutely horrible offence last season. We've seen what happens to Delhomme when he doesn't have targets. He needs Bryant, who could do to him what Crabtree did to Alex Smith.

What the Browns lack is playmakers. Is there anybody on their roster a playmaker?EDIT( i forgot Cribbs) Not on defense. So why not take probably the biggest playmaker in the draft in Eric Berry. With so many needs the Browns don't have to worry about positional value and can take the best player available and that is Berry.

The Browns are probably the happiest team so far, they rush up and put their pick in less than 10 seconds, Berry has got to be the pick, especially considering they need playmakers on both offense or defense. If they pause it will be to think about Dez Bryant on offense, but in the end they will take berry.

Quite Simply.. What is Clevelands Biggest Need? Secondary Help. Who is the best player on the board at this pick? Eric Berry. This has to be Eric Berry he has great positional value, is the best player left on the board and will be a great playmaker on a defence which Cleveland Lack.

Bryant looks like he'll be a pretty good WR. Haden looks like a pretty good CB. Berry might be the best safety prospect EVER. The Browns hand in their card in ten seconds and don't think twice.

The Browns have lost a safety to a cut/free agency two years in a row. And their secondary desperately needs help. Bryant might be an option, but they drafted both Massaquoi and Robiskie last year. Berry it is.

As much as the Browns need offensive playmakers, players of Eric Berry's caliber don't come around too often. Throw in the fact that Dez Bryant is literally nothing compared to the wide receivers coming out in the next year or two, and it's a stupidly easy choice.

The browns should take the one of the most hyped up defense players in recent history in Eric Berry. An elite safety that probably is gonig to be a real team leader like Polamalu. They could also take a look at the athlete (not football player) JPP, since Wimbley isn't on the team anyomre

Eric Berry definately will be the pick here. Outside of Eric Wright we have nothing in that secondary. We're a team coming off a 40 sack season but that number would significantly improve with a ball hawk lurking around in the secondary. Berry brings that playmaker to a defense that so badly needs it. Not only would the sack numbers go up because the QB will think twice about throwing the ball, but it helps the front 7 all together get to the Quarterback which ultimately is going to lead to more turnovers. The thing that makes Berry so unique is his ability to cover man to man like a cornerback which allows us to stay in our Base D and bring the heat when they're in a 3 WR set because he can lock that slot receiver down which again is going to translate into more sacks and turnovers.

For all those saying cleveland need offensive playmakers, they can address that in the second round with the 38th pick. Going by most mock drafts the only WR's off the board will be Bryant and Tate, so they will have a heck of a lot to choose from. Instead browns will go with the best player available in Berry, who should kick start a defence that last year was ranked 29th in both number of interceptions and pass yards allowed per game.

This is probably the easiest one to pick. Eric Berry without a doubt. No way Berry makes it past the browns. Only way is if claussen or bradford is available. Browns have some pretty good WR prospects. They could use another WR but not this early.

I have them taking Berry here, it makes too much sense for them not to. On the other hand, it is the Cleveland Browns and some of the moves they have made since Holmgren walked in the door have been eyebrow raising, so an unorthodox pick may be in the cards.

Berry is a lock if he is there and neither of the top QBs are available. The Browns desperately need a defensive play maker, and Berry definitely qualifies.

Holmgren just loves using his top picks on DB's. I remember all too well staying up half way through the night (in the UK) waiting to see who the Seahawks took to find it was yet another Corner. To be fair, when Holmgren was running the show, he picked them pretty well. After the GM duties were removed we still picked two Corners but neither would you want in your side as a starter. The Walrus would be ripping the heads off seals to get this scenario. The top two DB's still on the board at 7? Lets get real. Berry won't be here, but if he was Holmgren would jump.
Now who was it picked Bryant? No chance.....

Eric Berry at #7 is an absolute steal. The Browns need to upgrade their DB corp, Haden is good but Berry is, well, Berry.

I keep forgetting to do these, ahhh
Considering how talented of a prospect Eric Berry is, he should NOT be available here, but if the draft plays out like this, the Browns are getting one hell of a value by taking a consensus top three player at pick number seven. Brodney Pool never lived up to his potential due to injuries, but was an adequate starter at safety, and now that he's a Jet there's an even bigger hole in the secondary for Cleveland. There is absolutely no way this isn't Eric Berry if he's available.

I went Haden, on the logic of having a shut down corner has more value than a excellent safety

I think Mangina will blow his knee trying to run up to the podium with the card that reads: the 'E. BERRY, S, TENN'
He will definitely upgrade their secondary!

The Browns No.1 need is a quarterback. Since they can't upgrade that position at the moment, they go to their second biggest need, CB. This class has very good secondary depth, and a safety can be chosen in the second-third round. That is why I think the Browns will choose Joe Haden

Yes Yes Yes,
Eric Berry is the favored athlete in the secondary. But why does everyone forget Holmgren LOVES taking cornerbacks in Round One. Kelly Jennings and Marcus Trufant the most recent. Haden will be the pick. Holmgren loves athletic Shutdown Corners. When has he ever drafted a Safety in the first round? He doesn't hold that position as dear to his defense.

Berry seems far and away the safest pick. Those other 4 should be too scary for a team like the Browns who need to get a hit in the draft.

I think the browns have to go d-back here and how could you pass up Eric Berry, the browns need safties and lots of immediate talent and thats what i think Berry brings. I dont think they would take Bryant and especially not at 9. They just drafted Brian Robiskie and Massaquoi last year and they have Josh Cribbs.

Can't be JPP, Mangini drafted Gholston, so he is going to do everything in his power to make sure they do draft another rush linebacker this early. Then you have Joe Haden. To early for him, only time corners go this high is if they are an all time prospect like Rod Woodson or Deion Sanders. So that just leaves Eric Berry, is just makes to much sense. Then again, they are the browns.

Dez Bryant goes to the Browns.

Berry slides to the Browns and Heckert is so happy. Remember, they may be the Browns, but Heckert is a guy that knows what he is doing on draft day. He has aided the Eagles in picking many good players for several years. As an Eagles fan, I was sad to see him go. He knows the headache that will go into signing Bryant (flashback to Crabtree last year) and will salivate over getting the chance to take a can't miss prospect like Berry at #7.
