Game is on ESPN, 8 pm Eastern.
LSU is -18.5. I like them to cover that.
First college in-game thread of the year.
Sorry, Walt. Won't be able to make this game.

It's cool, maybe next time.

Enough with this Tulsa-UL Monroe garbage, let's see some SEC action.

Nice breakup by Chevis Jackson. MSU fumbles on 2nd down. Sad display.
LSU is just so much faster and stronger

3-and-out
LSU's turn to score.

Nice first completion for Flynn, first down to Mitchell
Walter

Flynn throws 12-yard pass on 3rd-and-9, negated by a false start. Still a nice pass.
Walter
08-30-2007, 07:13 PM
Ciron Black whistled for the false start.
Walter

LSU offense looks good, just that Black penalty kept them from scoring. The Tigers would have had the ball on MSU's 20.
Walter

True freshman Danny McCray picks off MSU... LSU has the ball on MSU's 44.
Walter

Nice job by Titus Brown getting pressure, disrupting LSU's bootleg.
Walter

FG LSU, victory for MSU's defense.
3-0

Nice stop by Ali Highsmith on 3rd down after he was beat earlier.
4th-and-2 for Miss St.
Walter

Not a good game for Ali Highsmith; he keeps getting beat to the outside

How is Herman Johnson playing? Is he playing at LG or RG? Also has he been better at pass or run blocking?
Thanks, I'm watching the Bills game.

Zenon Warrior Princess with an interception. LSU needs to get on the board to keep MSU from hanging around.
Walter

Herman Johnson's in at left guard. Titus Brown is really causing LSU's offense some problems, so LSU's blocking deficiencies are on the right side. Johnson's playing well, I haven't seen anything negative out of him.

Early Doucet just made a nice fingertip catch.
Walter

Touchdown LSU, Keiland Williams 1-yard run
LSU 10, MSU 0
Walter

Craig Steltz picks off a flee-flicker.
Could have been pass interference on the corner.

Another pick for LSU, horrible pass by MSU's QB
Walter
08-30-2007, 08:32 PM
Nice drive by LSU at the end of the first half.
They're at MSU's 4
Walter
08-30-2007, 08:35 PM
LSU was down at MSU's 1 with 3 seconds left, and decided to go for the TD; not the FG.
Keiland Williams ran it up the middle again.
LSU 17, MSU 0
Yo Walt. I'll watch the game with you for a little while, but I got to go back out in like 10 minutes.
Walter

OK cool, thanks Mark

Shame you came on during overtime.
Walter

That was fast.
Flynn to Doucet, about 20 yards. Touchdown.
LSU 24, Miss St 0
How was Will Arnold looked?
Mississippi State's QB has heart. See him trying to block? He did get tossed to the ground though, lol.
Great throw and catch, but why cheer? You're down 24-0.

It's a shame he doesn't have the arm strength. Four INTs today if I'm not mistaken.

Will Arnold didn't start and I'm not sure if he has even been in the game or not
Great play by Titus Brown.
Walter

Titus Brown has had a monstrous game against LSU. Definitely improved his draft stock.
Walter

Tough break for MSU's QB if he's really hurt
Hate to see your QB go down on the first game.
Well Walt, I got to split. Sorry I couldn't stay longer. Looking forward to reading the rest of what you have to say about the game. Later, bro.

Another pick for Steltz.
INT No. 5 for Henning

Glenn Dorsey just plowed Henning into the ground.
I feel so bad for him
Walter

Steltz with his 3rd pick!
I guess LSU has a solid replacement for LaRon Landry, huh?
Walter

Great leadership by Titus Brown, talking to Hening after that performance
Walter

Flynn out of the game. What a disaster this turned out to be.

Despite the score of the game, I am not impressed with LSU's performance.
They have no receving threat other than Early Doucet. Brandon LaFell didn't step up, and Flynn doesn't trust his other targets at all. LSU's passing game really isn't there right now.
Keiland Williams also didn't seem as explosive today as he did vs. Notre Dame last year.
This said, after today's performance I have a hard time seeing LSU win the national title. Lets see USC play and if Turner and Hazelton can step up.

It's hard to play for the national title coming out of the SEC because the conference is so tough, teams almost automatically lose one game.
But I wouldn't count out LSU yet. It was their first game, and Flynn was getting extensive action for the first time. Their defense is so dominant, if they improve just a bit on offense they'll be fine.
