View Full Version : Wisconsin showing why I predicted them to be best in Big 10

I was suspect with Michigan never living up to their preseason hype...happens once again with them losing to Appalachain St. and ending their BCS Title hopes.

I have been a big fan for a while of Wisconsin's strategy. They pound it with the running game and then let their dominating defense take over. It is the way football was meant to be played.

Their passing game looks much better with Tyler Donovan than last year's with John Stocco.

I just wish the Big 10 had a championship game.

I agree that the Big Ten needs a championship game. It's a shame they don't have one.

You don't like Penn State's chances against Wisconsin? The Badgers have to go into Happy Valley this year.

I really expect Wisconsin's defense to come through in that game. It will be tough, but I am not sold on Anthony Morelli quite yet.

How come no one says watch out for my Fighting Illini... okay okay they're still a few years away but at least they are watchable now

Because they lost to Mizzou?...but Big 11 teams can no longer sleep on the Illini. They are capable of an upset.

I am not a fan of Zook, we shall see if he proves me wrong.

I think Illinois is definitely out of the cellar. I would watch out for them in a couple of years, but not yet.

Michigan's defense was/is going to be a problem for them this year and next year. They had about a 2 year stretch where they kind of took off during the recruiting stages.

After next season though they should be in title contention again...

Wisconsin is certainly the team to beat this year in he BigTen

Why will Michigan be in contention again after losing so much talent to the NFL after this season?

They should be worse next season. Maybe they will be a little better defensively, but offensively they will be much much worse.

I said after next season Matt, not after this season...

I agree they will probably be average at best this season with that defense, and it will be rough to rebound next season after they lose Henne, Hart, Long and Manningham to the draft.

Manningham should declare knowing there is no national title hope next year either...

Michigan wont win the Big Ten because of two things. One, Chad Henne is an awful QB when pressured, and two they cant beat OSU.
Wisconsin really didnt impress me. 21 points to a .500 team in a vastly overrated Pac-10? That isnt appealing.
Ohio State was alright, I didnt see the game but the score didnt indicate any domination. They also played a D-1AA team.

95% of QBs are awful when pressured.

Also, we don't know if they can't beat OSU. OSU is gonna have a down year. The question is if Michigan can beat Wisconsin and/or Penn State (don't know their schedule off top of my head).

I didn't say Wisconsin was a great team, just the best in the Big 11.

Wisc looked decent. Penn St. looked better than that. Michigan will still be a force and they will beat OSU this year Hart looked good and will continue to be a force running the ball

Adam, you fail to recognize that the Big 11 this year isn't about OSU/UM...it is about Wisconsin/Penn State.

I personally don't really care who wins the OSU/UM game, because I feel neither one will win the Big 11.
