Does he?

Yes. A team that talented has no business getting blasted like that in primetime, back-up QB or not.

It's not a matter of "will he", it's when. I can't see how he sticks around after that abomination. The team literally quit halfway through the game. I felt bad for Jon Kitna and Dez Bryant.

Exactly. He's gonna get fired. It's just whether Jerry Jones wants to do it now, or at the end of the season.

This really is it. If he doesn't get fired this week, he won't be until the offseason. I've watched some bad Dallas games in the Wade era. 44-6 in Philly to end 2008, 34-3 in Minnesota to end 09-10 come to mind. But this might top both of them. Dallas was thoroughly dominated. They gave up 28 points in the second quarter. They had -8 offensive yards in the 3rd quarter.

Jerry has been too stubborn to admit his mistakes when it comes to Phillips (not firing him after 08, extending him, or even hiring him over Sparano in the first place...). But I think he finally caves into the demands of the fan base. Plus, as much as I detest Jason Garrett, it's time to see if he has what it takes to be a head coach in this league.

Shame, too. Wade always seemed like a nice guy. Yes he's an awful head coach, but I think he could have moderate success elsewhere. He just doesn't fit on a team like the Cowboys, who have no natural leaders and require the coach to fill that role.

He's a really good defensive coordinator. Bad HC, though.

Yeah. To be fair, some of the guys on the defensive front seven (Ware, Brooking, Spencer) did for a few quarters, too. But Kitna and Bryant were the only ones who hadn't packed it in at the end. Not that I blame the rest of them.

Dallas' defensive statistics over the last 3 weeks disagree with that statement. It's especially shocking considering how many players on the defense have Pro Bowl pedigree. Whoever is coaching Dallas next year is one thing; figuring out the coordinators will be just as difficult.

Mike Jenkins has been terrible. Don't know how much of that you can blame on the coaches-he was a Pro Bowler last year. A lot of that defensive meltdown has to be attributed to the team just giving up. Good scheme only goes so far when the players don't want to be out there.

I like watching this team. To say it's a trainwreck doesn't do it justice. It's like a train that keeps wrecking for the exact same reason but doesn't give a ****. Next stop, the New York Giants!

But seriously, I think they gotta let Jason Garrett run the team. In Hard Knocks he seemed like a hard ass that would get on guys so even if you don't like him as an OC he'd be an upgrade over Wade. If not him, get someone in there whose not afraid to yell at the team. I know they're not gonna win this year, but there's still eight games to play and with as much money as the franchise is worth, they have to at least pretend they care for Jerry's product to salvage some value. If it doesn't happen this week, I say Wade is canned after they get embarrassed on a national stage again on Thanksgiving so they'll have a week and a half to regroup.

His issue is effort which does fall on the coaches to some extent. It's a shame since he was one of my favorite corners to watch.

Jenkins' play this season has been nothing short of inexplicable. He was great at defending deep routes last year- I'm pretty sure all 5 of his picks came against fades or posts, and he only gave up 2 touchdown passes on the season. Now he's getting beaten deep 4-5 times a game.

But he's just one player. Where the hell is the pass rush? The run defense? Both were top 10 last year, bottom 10 this year. The only player that has been just as good this year as last year has been Ware, and even he hasn't played well the last 2 weeks.

No, I agree. I hate Jason Garrett with a passion, but they need to see if he can be their head coach of the future.

I feel like Wade Philips is probably a really awesome Grandpa to someone. He seems super nice, and I feel bad for him.

He really needs to be fired though, start over somewhere else dude.

I agree. He seems too nice to coach the kind of players that Dallas attracts.

Like someone makes a monumental mistake and he's just like, "Oh shucks, son. Go get 'em next time champ!"
