Matt wouldn't have the balls to say that to a woman in real life. He is the guy that doesn't get attention from women and thus skulks with his friends developing a hatred for them.

Its already happened across NJ and PA. Not sure about other states.

I thought Matt was just getting into teaching.
I don't think he's the type to skip work and not care about the kids, just for some selfish strike.
