NFL: Jets
MLB: Yankees, minor interest in the Mets
NBA: Knicks
NCAAF: Michigan, Syracuse, Miami in that order
NCAABB: Siena, Syracuse in that order
NHL: sucks, but if I was forced to watch, Devils, Islanders in that order
AVP: Misty May (best porn name ever)and Kerri Walsh

Matt McGuire

NoNonsenseCoach
02-11-2008, 03:43 PM
NFL: Steelers, Colts, Cardinals, Texans, and whoever plays the Pats that week.
NBA: Suns, Mavs, Celtics
NCAAF: Ohio State, Pitt, Auburn, Oaklahoma, Purdue
NCAAB: Pitt, Wake Forest, NCState, Xavier

None of those teams are really set in stone (aside from the Pittsburgh ones). I just follow players and cheer for teams whose personnel I like.

lol I forgot WSOP...I have a friend from high school who's pretty good. Plays full time and was on TV a few times on the high stakes games. Can't remember the name of the show. Makes the money sometimes in WSOP events. Hopefully 1 day I'll see him on ESPN.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

When I saw this thread I though it was something entirely different. In Australia "rooting" is akin to what led a thread that shall not be named to be recently locked. So the phrase "rooting interests" piqued my interest somewhat. Gisele would be on that list.

Seriously though
NFL: Broncos
NCAAF: I don't really have one as I didn't go to a US college, though I sort of got forced to be a Trojan fan when I was homeless for 3 months and spent one of them sleeping under a USC blanket at a friend's house who went there.
NRL (AUS): Gold Coast Titans
AFL (AUS): Brisbane Lions
Cricket: Queensland

LOL nice. Gotta love when words or saying get mixed meanings with different cultures.

Root (verb and noun) : synonym for f*ck in nearly all its senses: "I feel rooted"; "this washing machine is rooted"; "(s)he's a good root". A very useful word in fairly polite company.
Root rat : somebody who is constantly looking for sex.

I wanna root the cheerleader from Heroes.

Heya Fella's,

While I'm thinking i'm the only non-ugly female on this thread, I know my football, and I have to say most of you are going to be wrong in your little 2008 mock drafts you got going on. That being said, this was a cute little segment that I noticed some of you had multiple teams in the same sport you rooted for??? How is that possible? Anyways, here are mine

NFL: Cleveland Browns

MLB: Detroit Tigers ( I sold out, I used to be a Reds fan before I moved to Michigan 8 yrs ago....but I still love Ken Griffey Jr. and the good ole days of the Reds with Sabo and Larkin when I was a kid. )

NBA: Detroit Pistons (yeahhhh I sold out here too...seriously though, they're the most complete and non-arrogent-superstar team in the NBA though)

NCAAF: OSU, OSU, OSU, and ummm OSU (that's THE Ohio State University...and yes most OSU fans are arrogent and annoying as hell. And might I mention that Troy Smith is going to be the next Warren Moon if the stupid white boys in the league will give more Black QB's a shot instead of letting them start for a few games and then say "ooooh ok bring in a white boy now"....Predjudice still exists in spades...)

NCAABB: Dayton Flyers (SHUTUP!!! I'm from Dayton)

NHL: Dallas Stars (normally I hate all teams from "Dallas" but Mike Modono I thought was hot back in the day, and my dad is a huge Stars fan )

British Premiership League: Liverpool (My brother-in-law is from the UK, he forces me to like Liverpool.......but that cat Gerrard....he's pretty good)

Tennis: (ok jokes jokes, I hate tennis, except I did like Agassi)

Women's Golf: ( jokes again, i'm not a lesbo)

The morning after pill flushes all the semen from a girls system before they can attach themselves to an egg. An abortion in any trimester is getting rid of a baby during it's creation.

Well, it's not like he put UNC as a favorite alongside Duke...

He might have a history with both....like, for my teams, UGA is my alma mater, K-State is my dad's, and Arizona State I nearly went to and got a scholarship to go to, so I have a soft spot for all of them. UGA trumps it all, of course, but on any day KState and AState aren't playing UGA, I'll root for them.

Kentucky fans hate Duke.

There is no rivalry between Duke adn Kentucky. Kentucky fans act like they are the center of the universe. They think the world is against them.

Duke could give a **** about UK. They haven't played each other in more than a decade.

It's just the nature of the fans. Some fans are really dumb and create rivalries when they aren't there....like UNC/Michigan.

People confuse competitiveness and a rivalry. Everyone thinks rivalries should be competiive, and you hope that htey are. But not always.

There is such a thing as an uncompetitive rivalry. Trust me. North Hardin vs. E-Town...we dominated E-Town for years, but it was a HUGE rivalry.

Rivalry is about emotion. That's got nothing to do with winning. It has to do with if you beat X team 100 times in a row, you hate them just as much as the first time you beat them.

Rivalry is bragging rights. Rivalry is tradition.

I bet you don't sense any rivalry at all between Duke and UK either...yet every Kentucky kid on campus thinks there is a rivalry with Duke, and everyone that does is a moron. (Name one rivalry in any spot that doesn't play each other annually....much less not play in the past 10 years).

There might be some people at Michigan that hate Duke. Vice Versa. You woldn't know since you don't go to those schools.
