I've had two this year. In football, I developed an intestinal problem that kept me out the last few weeks, right after I won the starting TE job. And in wrestling I tore the muscle in the center of my back and everybody in my weight class got injured in three days

Broke my wrist in practice in 7th grade football.
Fractured my L4 and L5 vertebrates late in my 9th grade football year.
Tore my shoulder in 11th grade.
Tore my same shoulder Freshman year of college in practice.
Tore a ligament in my index finger on my shooting hand in 9th grade basektball.
Injuries own me.

Oh, and I got a type 3 concussion in kindergarten T-Ball, but I don't think that counts

Let's see. When I was 6. I had a broken collarbone in pee wee football, which shut me down for the season. Tore up my ankle in the 1st Quarter of the last game of the season in 10th grade, which obviously ended that season. Finally, in College, I suffered a concussion playing Hockey that pretty much ended my organized Hockey Career. I've played since, but not on that level. I also had Mono when I was 21 which cost me a Summer of Softball.
I've also played through more injuries than I care to remember, including the final 5 Football Games in my Senior Year of High School on a torn meniscus in my right knee. We were going to the playoffs, there was no way they were getting me off the field. I'd pop 5 Bayer Aspirin before the game and wore a brace to get through it.

Wow God hates you. Reminds me of a funny, well, sadly funny story from college football. Once we were stretching before practice, and a fellow D-lineman is lamenting about his life, saying "God hates me. I'm fat, I'm ugly, and I have a small *****. The only thing going for me is football." In our next game he broke his ankle. I felt so bad for him. Good news is that he was able to redshirt that year and come back for a fifth in which he captained the team and led us to a conference title. :)

I had a career-ender in the weight room, really F'ed up my back while on adrenaline rush maxing out on hang cleans.
I technically once had a season ending hip pointer, but it was in the last game of the season, so it's not like I missed a lot of time. I'm proud to say that I suffered the hip pointer on a TD-saving tackle. Of course, they still had first and goal and scored 2 plays later but it was the other DEs fault :)

Crushed my hand tackling a 'big back' in my first year playing, sucked because we made it to the conference finals that year. Next year I got a sick cut-block en-route to the QB and tore my PCL. We made it to the national championship game that year..!

my senior year in track i got overuse in my calves. crazy injury from working out too hard or something where the muscle sheath doesn't stretch out over the muscle properly or something, and it doesn't actually keep you out-out, but it's like it's really, really sore the whole time. so then i got shin splints besides. man that knocked my 100 from 11 seconds down to low 12's. what a bummer for working hard and being captain to get "hurt" just from training, but without a real injury. i found out in college though that you can get surgery for that and everything's just fine. shoulda done that.

Dislocated my right thumb in football last year. If I played anywhere other than QB I would have been able to play but it was my right thumb so I couldnt grip the ball. It caused me to miss 2 games so it wasnt that bad the last game was a playoff game we lost

Busted my knee playing hockey. It was like a lesser version of Willis McGahee's knee injury in college: same type of hit, same angle, just wasn't hit as hard (I was 14). I don't walk with a limp or anything, but I cannot run for any longer than a minute without having to limp around for the next hour or so.

Cleans can be nasty. I have the same thing with my shoulder (I tore it playing football) when I'm on the bench. I just can't max out anymore.

Broke and dislocated my big toe before the Rugby League Cup final for my team. (Literaly like 3 hours before the game) At about aged 12
Busted the knee ligaments and stuff and was out of the Soccer, Basketball and Rugby League for the entire seasons. Age 16
Broke a few bones in my hand/fingers which meant i missed the remainder of basketball season (only 2 games) Age 17

Freshman yaer of high school I went up for a layup and got rocked by a guy at least 3 times the size of me and came down on my wrist funny. I finished the game but could barely move my arm and later found out I had a fracture and had to be casted ending my season... Nothing sucks more than going to every practice to watch and shoot one handed lefty (I'm a righty) while everyone else practices and gets ready for the games u have no chance of playing in

Im calling you out on this. You don't just get mono for a summer (3 months) and then get better like it was nothing. My sister had mono, she felt the major effects of it for an entire year. She still gets sick all the time because of it (5 years).

I personally haven't, but Sophomore year on the first day of practice our coaches timed our forties. They had us run two at a time, side by side, and I ran next to my best friend. There was a dip in the ground near the end of the race on his side and he tripped and broke his collarbone. Done for the entire season and into the winter as well (he swims usually).

Yes...but it was also on the last day of the season.
Dove for a pop-up in batting practice, caught the ball, glove got caught on the ground, folded over and I rolled over on my hand, bending it backwards. Snapped the 3rd and 4th metacarpals in half.

I tore my ACL in my knee this year and that sucked. I went over the middle in practice and got drilled by two guys coming in different directions. Other than the usual broken bones and sprains that is the only major injury I have ever had.

If these are true, god hates you guys.
I only know of a few people in 4 years of high school that had injuries that I would call serious.
Worst I've ever had is shin splints and sprained ankles (none of which I missed practice for)... but then again what do you get when your main sport is running a 5K. Actually, the worst thing I ever had was dehydration (from summer workouts on a hot track).

Dislocated my shoulder with about a month left in the season. Annoying thing was I couldnt work out during the summer and for about a year the pain would reappear after an awkward movement.

The most I ever missed was one week of football and I missed the game that week because I sprained my MCL the week before.
Had I torn it, my season would of been over.
So luck has been on my side pretty much and thats the worst I've ever been injured.

Senior year HS Football. 1st game, 1st quarter. I was starting LG and DT but also was the punt snapper. Injury happened on punt. Running down the field, the play was over, and i got clipped from behind. Didn't even see it. Fell on my wrist awkwardly and broke it in two places and tore multiple ligaments. Had surgery and they put in pins. I was done for the year. It sucked.

Where do i begin lol, I broke my wrist 4 times, luckily it was 2 months before football season happened so it healed alright. Last year I had an issue where my knee cap kept popping out of place so I only got in like 3 games out of 10. I broke my collar bone in 7th grade, the day before the first game, so i was forced to miss. I also have had a lot of injuries that have forced me to miss playing time but not a season.

Crushed hand - the xray was disgusting - last game before playoffs in my 'freshman' year.
Torn PCL first game of the playoffs my 'sophmore' year. Still played all the way upto and even in the national finals though. Was used sparingly as you can imagine. Was told i was an idiot by my physio 2 months later. Have never been able to recover that speed.

To inform everyone, I have just suffered another injury in my right knee that will probably keep me out the rest of the wrestling season. I suffered this injury about 2 years ago, but Ive been a warrior and played through it, reinjuring it all the time, and now it has finally got up to me. I am due to get an MRI soon. The doctor said it might be an issue with knee cartilege. I hope I don't need surgery. Luckily this happened during wrestling season and not football, if it happened during football, id risk losing my knee.

Sorry to hear that man, but be careful with your knees, you'll need them when you're older!
I'm not sure how things work out in the US, but over here they hardly ever operate on knee injuries if you are young. They tend to prefer the longer and harder route of physio. It took me an entire summer of physio to fix my PCL and as I said, I've never recovered my pace from then.
Saying that, a friend of mine went under the knife recently but he paid a **** load to get it done. They think he'll be able to play rugby again within 4 months.

That makes no sense, surgery is the easiest, quickest, and best way to recover as quick as possible. I guess doctors in the US are smarter, but the system is just screwed up, you know the insurance denied my claim to get an MRI on my knee? What kind of crap is that. I can barely walk normal on it. It hurts beyond belief, I should sue them for causing me more pain and suffering. Challenging them right now though, getting the doctor to send them something, insurance is a legal scam, that is illegal no to follow have.

It's because you are young and healthy and your injury is recreational. You are basically at the back of the queue.
And you are right, the system in the UK means that all healthcare is subsidised. They can't really afford to fix recreational American Football players knees on the tax-payers money.

Makes sense, but the purpose of going to a doctor is to recover as quick as possible.

Had a career ending injury before it even started. I honestly think I could've been something if not for Pectus excavatum(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pectus_excavatum). I've got breathing problems, which makes working out extremely tough and chronic back pain. Doctors tell me if I take a big hit to the chest, one of my lungs could rupture.
Thinking about surgery recently though. Just afraid.

I've always been prone to shin splints. At least now I know how to prevent them.
I don't have a season ending injury, but I did strain my mcl/acl on my 2nd of a required 5 jumps to graduate jump school when I was in the Army. We were doing 3 jumps in a day and I landed funky and I knew it was hurt, but I did all 3 jumps that day. Unfortunately, the next morning for my final jump, my knee was the size of a volley-ball and they wouldn't let me jump. So, I had to go through jump school again. It was great.

It depends how serious they are. It wasn't the pain that was the problem, I couldn't run after a few minutes because my lower leg got so weak and unstable. That went on for a few months. Also, this was my freshman year of HS and I was kinda fat. And I'm a weak girl.
