These idiots won't stop with their irrelevant links/ads, so any suggestions?

Should I make a new section called "Spammer's Lounge and Site Promotion Room?"

Don't click on the links, there trojan viruses. You should report there I.P. address under the Anti-Spam act of 2003. Most of them are robots anyways.

Where do I report these IP addresses?

Well you can do two things. Track the IP from the poster and try to resolve it using ARIN or WHOIS. Then from that get their Internet Server Provider and tell them what is happening and that you think one of their members is being disruptive. They will cancel his/her account after that.

I strongly advise to modify your board, for example to add alternative captcha during the registration, or another minior modifications. The abuse is not a right way to avoid spammers (cause they often use proxies), my advice is to modify the script or to ban the IP list of spammy accounts.

I've been banning the IP addresses.

Ya there's a difference between spamming for your sports links, ebay, other sites or these stupid ones with porn sites or crap like that....

Walter, I'd seriously consider talking to your forum provider about the spammers.

I agree. By the way, this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha) is a captcha (I had to look it up myself). That should do away with most of the robot spamming.

As far as human spammers, a 24-hour waiting period (before you can post) would be beyond the patience of most spammers (they've got other boards to hit), but could also irritate non-spammers.

is that 24-hour waiting period just when you first join or how does that work?

From the looks of things, the spammers have found us. It's only a matter of time before moderating becomes a full-time job. I'd implement those captchas as soon as possible.
