Okay, let's not but seriously I just noticed harriettvanders online and the last post that user made was a porn advertisement. Why did we not at least ban the username? Makes no sense to me.

The spammers only post once, then go away forever. Banning them doesn't do any good.

It's seldom that they post twice, but even if they do, I've never seen them post 3 times.

We (me for the most part, 49ersfan, a little of BR and Matt) have done lots of banning in the past. It really doesn't help much considering they post once and leave. Then 2 more take their place.

The only time I ever bothered to ban was when renipendi or something like that was posting in multiple threads. There really is no point.

We still get some spam in threads, but it is nothing we can prevent. Walter helped us out at least we don't have to see dumb starting porn threads again.
