August 5: What do you think of the preseason?

I used to hate the preseason big time-- but that's before I became a follower of football from top to bottom. Meaning, I started to care about the development of the players. It's cool to check all that shiese out.

I actually very much like the preseason, but 4 games is one too many.

My opinion is that the preseason should be shortened to 3 games, and Week 4 should be added to the regular season. The regular season could then be extended to 18 games by adding only 1 additional week.

I always liked the idea of the NFL adding a rivalry week in the NFL, where two rivals that don't usually get a chance play each other. Some examples:

Jets vs. Giants
Raiders vs. 49ers
Rams vs. Chiefs
Eagles vs. Steelers
Ravens vs. Redskins
Indianapolis vs. New England

And so on... I think that'd be really cool.

You forgot about the bye week. It would only be 17 games.

But I love the preseason. I keep up on the NFCS. I like to see how they're all doing.
