That's the next step for NFL teams. They want the young, hot name to revolutionize things. At some point that means hiring a Madden gamer in their early 20's.

With the way things are going those kids may be about the only choices left for the Lions.

Edit: If the Lions do take somebody who is still coaching it seems like the most likely guys would be Pats WR coach Chad O'Shea or Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron.
Or a retread like Darrell Bevell. Sorry about that.

To be fair, you couldn't predict Smith getting Theismanned.

There are no good options when losing the best position coach in the game.

I think its being overblown just because the stupid new owner opened his piehole.

For those interested in later round guess for mock drafts this is in regards to Shrine game participant and James Madison CB Jimmy Moreland:

"Moreland indicated to me he has met with the Lions. Additionally, I was advised the Lions did visit Harrisonburg, VA for a practice session and meeting with the Dukes

The man has more playoff wins with Dallas in 4 years than the Lions have in the last 60.

I'm thinking in this class, there's a serious chance he goes in the first round.
After Mayfield's success and the lack of other impressive QBs, he's definitely going in Rd. 1.

BTW, remember Walt's analysis last year was "don't get these crappy QBs, wait til next year!" Well, here we are, and most of these QBs are "meh" at best. Granted, Mayfield was the only one out of last year's class to look like the unquestionable future, but there's still time!
