Jeff Allen in the 2nd round.... LOLNO
Derek Wolfe is a 3rd-4th round prospect. Amini Silatolu? Why are we reaching on a guard in the second round? Lots of other picks that just seem unresearched and a lot that any random fan can say "Oh they have a need here, I'll mock them this player!"
I used to actually listen to Mel but his quality has gone so far down this year it seems. Or maybe I'm just getting smarter.
If the Patriots got Josh Robinson in the second, I would get the biggest boner.
I would love it if the first two picks were Kalil/Smith for the Vikings.
Why exactly do McShay and Kiper love him so much? I haven't seen anything from him that warrants anything higher than the middle of the second round.18. SD - Chandler Jones, DE/OLB
Did I miss something? I've been under the assumption McClellin was a borderline 2nd/3rd round prospect at best.27. NE - Shea McClellin DE/OLB
Not terrible, but I would typically think Wolfe is more of a second round prospect.31. NE - Derek Wolfe DE/DT
This one baffles me the most... I don't have Jenkins in my top 200 prospects, either my eyes are deceiving me when I watch him, or Mel's been dipping into the Kool-Aid38. JAX - A.J. Jenkins WR
I guess picks at the bottom of the second round are toss-ups, but Manning is just way too high. But then again, the Chargers drafted Jonas Mouton one spot later last year, so this pick's not totally out there.60. BAL - Terrell Manning ILB
No Lamar Miller, Jeffery or Sanu in his first two rounds. Agree wholeheartedly with Bball on those above picks, big reaches.
I don't mind reaches, because reaches happen, but some of them are huuuuuge reaches and you're leaving out players like Jeffery, Sanu, and Miller for them. Plus they're going to teams that would never reach (like the Ravens and Patriots) and there's no real reasoning for it other than "The Pats need a Dlineman, and Derek Wolfe is that"
Kiper would fit in well with a lot of stupid front offices then.
See, this Carolina draft I love.
