  • DeMarco Murray Scouting Report

    RB DeMarco Murray, Oklahoma

Pros - Great speed and vision, Good pass blocking, Finishes runs well, Makes great cuts, Gives 100% on every play, Hits the edge very quickly, Good balance, Excellent returning abilities, Fights for extra yards

Cons - At 190 lbs, he is a bit undersized, Doesn't break tackles extremely well, Upright running style could lend itself to injury, Needs to protect the ball better

Comparison - Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

Analysis - DeMarco Murray will inevitably be questioned because of his size and possible injury concerns. However, he is the most impressive pure runner in college football right now. He has an incredible knack for feeling the defense and makes lightning quick moves to adjust. He runs much like Adrian Peterson even though he is a smaller back than Peterson is. Overall though, Murray's freakish speed and obvious work ethic leads me to think that he could be the best back in this class.

    Draft Grade - Top 20

Did you just compare a 190 pound back to 220 pound Adrian Peterson?

Man, right on the money there.

I think Murray is more of a Reggie Bush type.

190 lbs? What's his 40? It's probably gotta be fast.

Weak player comparison. I see Scott Wright do this all the time too, he just picks players that went to the same school and played the same position (aka Reggie Smith with Brodney Pool).
        2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

I did find that ironic. But I really couldn't think of a better player comparison. He immediately makes me think Adrian Peterson when I see him run. The only difference is the size and the lack of strength that comes with it but he runs about the same.

And Puppy, I've projected him for a 4.33 40 time at the Combine.
