Chad has worked hard over the summer to fix some kinks in his academic eligibility, and Les Miles let out this nifty quote:
Miles agrees: Chad is rad.
Chad will certainly continue to be used as the dime in nickel and dime packages. Some say Chad could also be used as a linebacker. Thankfully, Chad is such a versatile athlete, he could be used anywhere.
In other Chad Jones news, LSU is looking for a new punt returner. Incredible and gifted athlete Chad is, he was hardly impressive as a punt returner. He averaged a meager six yards per return. Thankfully, there are others looking at the chance, including speedy John Williams (not the film composer) and prep star cornerback freshman Patrick Peterson (formerly Johnson) who in the first practice looked even better than advertised as a cornerback. Look for Peterson's name to pop into first round mocks everywhere soon.
“I think there’s always competition at the safety spot for him (Jones),” Miles said. “But any snaps where he is not in the game are mistakes. We have got to play him. I think that’s the plan and those mistakes will not be made.”
