I have him going in my 3rd round in my most recent update to your Bucs, Matt LOL -
Teams will just fall in love with his physical tools, and IMO he will also be a first day pick. An interesting developmental prospect at the very least. If Eli doesn't improve between now and the seasons end I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants took a chance on him with with a late 2nd or 3rd round pick.Comment

Hmm, as far as being a developmental QB I think it is a good pick Walter. But honestly with as good a showing as Luke McCown had last week, I mean who knows maybe he is our guy.
You don't need to have Carson Palmer tools to play QB in the NFL, you just have to play within the gameplan like a David Garrard does.
Flacco doesn't have the mobility that Gruden loves so he doesn't seem like our type of guy.2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

I'm really not that impressed with Flacco's mobility. I'm not talking about taking off and running with it for 20 yards like Dennis Dixon.
I'm talking about stepping up and around pressure. Stepping up into the pocket using the seam the OL created...he just seems really flat footed.
Lack of athleticism or bad coaching?2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

I'm not quite sure to be honest. I've also noticed he throws off his back foot quite often, and although that is not a good thing obviously, it is easily coachable, and if you are drafting a guy like him, you treat him like a developmental guy due to his small school status and use the time to weed that sort of stuff out of his game, and then give him a chance to show what hes got, not feed him to the dogs early on like so many teams do with guys who are clearly not ready.2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

i really like david garrard.
I think coaching can really do wonders--look at aaron rodgers before and after mike mccarthy. heck look at brett favre. look at what mariucci and holmgren did for years in developing pro qbs. if grossman were on a holmgren-mariucci team, he'd be throwing 30-15s every year.
that said, and not having seen him play, footwork is very coachable and if that's flacco's worst attribute, certain teams shouldn't worry too much.Comment
