Why didn't you ask me about that in my latest mock update?

But anyways. I think McFadden is a hell of a player and he fits their system. But they do have a need at OLB. Vrabel is 32 years old. Chris Long grades out just as good as any player in this draft. It isn't like they are losing out on value in not taking McFadden.

They could take McFadden, and they just might (to make Maroney expendable). But I am not so sure they want to spend a lot of money on a runningback when they are already good at that position and they have limited cap space.

Chris Long fits exactly what Belicheck loves in a player with his attitude and he will love his pedigree. I think it is a match made in heaven.

I'm making a mock draft just now. Got to the end of round 2 last night, got tired and went to bed, will post it in full when I complete round 3 later today.

        I've also done a mock free-agency.

Ugh I like your work, but I hate the Jets picks you have after Ghoulston. Bowman could be real good but they have a #1 in coles and a #2 in cotchery. I wouldn't want they drafting that high for a a#3 WR. As for Carlson i know a lot of you are high on him, but the lots of people think the Jets need a TE just because they Chris Baker doesn't get stats. Well that's because they haven't thrown to him much this season. They keep him in to help block on their shotty O-Line. Baker is a very underrrated receiving TE. He is def top 15 in being a receiving TE and is a decent blocker if nothing.

Erin Henderson is a MLB. Xavier Adibi is a Cover 2 WLB so that is who I would take if you wanted the Bills to go LB. Because that is the LB spot we need to up-grade at.

Matt, check Bill Belichick's draft history and you'll find that he has never drafted linebackers. In an interview, I remember him saying he likes signing veterans because he needs to know that he can trust them first.

Thats a good point, but Chris Long is no rookie. He acts like a veteran and carries himself like a veteran. He has a high football IQ and plays with pristine technique. His dad is of course Howie so Billcheck knows the pedigree...who wouldn't love to have Howie Long Jr. on their defense?...Long fits exactly what the Pats look for in that hybrid outside linebacker.

Point taken, but I think Belichick looks for a certain mentality. You brought up Long's great football IQ, but I still think Belichick would prefer a veteran. Could happen though.

I'm thinking NE takes McFadden, but if not a can't see him falling to #7. That's what happened this year with Adrian Peterson, luckily for the Vikes. McFadden is the same type of back. Somebody will pick him up earlier even if it doesn't fit an immediate need.

Agreed, I don't think he makes it past Atlanta

Why would Atlanta take McFadden? They have Jerious Norwood and there is no way they pass up Matt Ryan or Andre' Woodson when they have a glaring need at quarterback.

If Jake Long and McFadden are both on the board for Atlanta, I think Atlanta takes Jake Long.

First, players fall in the draft. Matt Leinart. Aaron Rodgers. Brady Quinn (who I predicted to fall). All of those 3 guys fell because of the lack of a need for a quarterback in the NFL...same with runningback. They are a dime a dozen. He could very well fall.

While Adrian Peterson is a great player, how long will he last in the NFL? What if he tears his ACL.

This is the huge risk with runningbacks, they are injury risks.

Secondly, McFadden and Peterson have two distinct running styles...they are not the same type of back.
