  • 1st Overall Draft Pick

1st overall pick is officially the Rams according to Adam Schefter

"By losing to Tampa Bay, Seattle helped St. Louis get the No. 1 overall pick -- and now the Seahawks might have to face Suh in NFC West."

  • #2
St. Louis has to take a QB imo. I really don't see how they can continue to ignore the position. Schefter is probably just going based off of media hype - Clausen/Bradford didn't get invited to NY for the Heisman.

Draft stock isn't frozen in time. This is December...if you don't think things will change, well that's just ignorance.

Then again, Spagunolo is a defensive guy - so I'm not going to completely rule out Suh to STL - I just don't think it is as probable as Clausen.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

They have to take Clausen. Suh would be great obviously but they so badly need a QB

If you need to sell tickets, you don't take a DT first. Thats not how you get your fan base excited.

Hopefully they're stupid and take Suh... maybe that means one of the top QBs falls to Buffalo.

When you need a franchise QB, you can't pass up the opportunity to acquire one.

Suh's getting enough hype that the Rams might be able to talk the 3rd/4th pick into trading up to leapfrog the Bucs, giving them a shot at a QB 3rd/4th for less money and an extra pick or two.

Yeah, IDK. Maybe it's not all that stupid for the Rams to take Suh.

The Rams can probably pick up a QB at the top of RD-2 who's better than anyone they have now. Plus, they have so many holes that, even if they have a perfect draft, they're still likely to be picking high enough in 2011 to snag a franchise QB at that point. OTOH, Suh may be a once in a generation defensive player and, as others have said, Spagnuolo is a defensive guy.

The idea that a former defensive coordinator is more inclined to take a defensive player is a completely unjustified draft myth that comes from half-assed mock draft explanations.

How can they not take a QB?

kind of foolish not to. Bulger,Boller, and Null are all waiver level IMO

Bulger should retire, Boller needs to hold a clipboard and Null needs to be on a practice squad.

Rams have to go Clausen. However, now the lions are drafting 2nd, and TB 3rd. Possible Trade between STL and Bucs? Bucs need to jump ahead of Detriot to get Suh and Rams can afford to get the extra picks and not worry about Detriot taking a quarterback.

He's not even a once-in-a-draft player. All of this Suh dick sucking's getting out of hand (and so, SO annoying); McCoy is every bit as talented as he, and though he isn't as adept of a run blocker as you might want out of such a high draft pick, he is an ELITE pass rusher from the DT position, and one of the top 5 pass rushers, period, in this draft class.

That being said, congratulations to Clausen on being the next 1st overall draft pick and (likely) the last of the rookie QBs to get a monstrous contract right out the gate.
