    SMU isn't crappy...I've heard they have good facilities and I wouldn not ever pass up 1.5-1.7M per year. Plus you can actually recruit instead of having to desperately beg ex-cons to come to your university.

    SMU is in Texas right? Jones can just recruit in his backyard and he can really stretch a budget. He can find those diamonds in the rough for his system offense.

    Offer is on the table for 1.5-1.7M per season. He will jump on this in a heartbeat. He knows that the Sugar Bowl was the pinnacle for Hawaii. He wants to coach at a program where he can try to recuirt players and actually have good facilities.

    I also think it is a good hire for SMU...June Jones gimmick offense works anywhere as long as he doesn't play against defenses with real speed.
