    Now it looks the offer is on the table is between $1.7M and 2M, not 1.5-1.7 as originally thought.

    Also, they are talking to Martz as a backup plan.

    Lesser programs always do this to compete. They have to overpay to get the people they want because they can't offer the best pipeline of players and national recognition like a UCLA or Michigan can

      Yeah but SMU is a major step up from Hawaii in terms of facilities and being able to recruit...and especially that $2M/year salary.
