  • According to the grape vine....

The Jets and Lions are in talks over a blockbuster trad

Vilma and a draft pick for Shaun Rogers and Roy Williams

Well the Lions IMO will not get a 1st and will get ripped off.

Probably won't happen, but would make sense as two of these guys fill huge needs for the opposite team and the other player (Williams) is very unhappy with his current employers.

The Lions should take Robertson too.

Lions would get owned by that trade.

A deal along the lines of Vilma for Rogers and Williams and the two teams switch spots in the first round wouldn't suprise me.

Then the Lions would be in a better position at #6 to target Darren McFadden, Jake Long or Chris Long. Any of the 3 would fill a huge need for the team.

I hate being a ****ing genius...wasn't it me that said the Jets should trade Vilma to the Lions the other day. Yeah it was.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

The following would probably be the perfect scenario for both teams in my opinion.

                Lions Give up

                1st round pick #15 overall
                WR Roy Williams
                DT Shaun Rogers
DE Kalimba Edwards (would be a Rush OLB for New york)
5th round pick #136 Overall (may be willing to bump to a 4th)

                Jets Give up
                1st round pick #6 overall
                ILB Jonathan Vilma
                DT DeWayne Robertson

And again Lions could target numerous players. Primarily in my opinion Darren McFadden, Jake Long and Chris Long or Vernon Gholston. But it is a risk, as at #6 all of them could be gone. Whish would likely land them Ryan Clady or trying to drop down a few more spots for a CB.

Jets would then be in a good position to target a RB like Stewart or Mendenhall, a CB like McKelvin, Jenkins, Smith or Talib, or even another outside linebacker, maybe if they value Merling Harvey or Groves that high.

Now that would be a "Huge Trade"

Not saying I wouldn't like this, but don't cap penalities and pending physicals make this really less realistic?
