  • FRee Agent CB class appears to dwindle

Botson Globe is reporting that in an interview with Asante Samuel, Samuel stated he would like to stay with the team. Bringing into doubt the long standing thought that he will be in another teams uniform next season.

According to Adam Schefter Oakland is expected to place the franchise tag on CB Nnamdi Asomugha. Guarenteeing Asomugha a one year salary worth $9.465 million.

If both of the above mentioned players do not him the market, then that would leave Marcus Trufant as the only elite CB available in free agency.

Samuel wants to come back but he still might not. Players want to stay with their teams all the time... it just means they want their current team to pay them their value.

Considering the acrimony between Samuel and Pats' management last offseason, that is a surprise.
