Great assessment of our needs, I hope we can rip off another team like the 49ers for their 1st next year so we can get Laurinaitis or Maualuga. Samuel coming back would be a great surprise, but only if he signs for less money. It would be a big turnaround from last offseason where he didn't sign until before week 1.

LOL it would be like the Suns/Pistons doing that to the Hawks/Knicks every year.

I'm still not sure why both you (Walter) and Matt think the Jets need another WR that bad that they would draft one in the 2nd round even 3rd I would have trouble liking this scenario. Unless they address lots of DLine and OLine needs in FA I really can't see it happening. I mean they need 2 OL and at least 1 DL and at least 1 OLB before I would even want them to think WR or even RB. To me a WR is more of a want position then a need.

I know Coles is aging, but I don't see why he isn't effective as a #1 or #2. Cotchery is very solid and creates separation well and usually makes the first tackler miss after the catcher. As for the slot guy well McDroppin's sucks and hopefully gets cut, Brad Smith is fair but will compete for time. Chansi Stuckey had broken his foot and missed all of last year, he'll compete. Then get this one..Wallace Wright has worked his way up from Special Teams and will get in the mix, even though he isn't more than a #4. So there is enough promise in here for a #3. They might want to bring in a vet? Plus anyway they can throw more to Chris Baker who is underrated anyway and maybe use less 3 WRs sets.

I get to see the Jets in New York and I agree with sienna. They lose the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and they need to fix that first. If the opportunity comes a long for a big that threat at WR like Roy Williams I don't think they should pass on it though. They need a a player that scares people but the O-line has to be fixed.

I think the Jets have bigger needs than WR, but it is still definately a need.

Also, to even mention those kinds of names as being capable NFL starters is absolutely ridiculous. Let's just call a spade a spade. Those guys are horrible. Yes, and when you start talkign about 4th stringers, you're a homer.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Homer or not I know the Jets way more than I know other teams. But here's a serious question when is a #3 WR ever a NEED for a team that has many other holes to plug?

I think Coles is a No. 3 at this point in his career. So, a No. 2 WR is a need. The offense is sooo stale. They need help.

I have to agree. Coles is a number 2, as is Cochery, but they lack a number one.

I agree.... one of the BEST areas of this poor team is the WR corps. Coles and Cotchery are solid starters. I'm not a Jets fan, but living in Nj I see them every week. I'd also like to see what Stuckey can do. McCareins, for as much grief as he causes Jets fans, isn't as bad as some of the guys on the offensive and defensive lines.

Moreover, this is a pretty deep WR class, they can pick up good talent in the 2nd - 4th round. Regardless of what they do at WR, it's really not going to matter if Kellen Clemens gets snapped in half in a collapsing pocket.

I'm sorry, but the Jets WRs blew a lot of games this year with all the drops. I'm not buying it.

Also Walter...Trevor Laws would get absolutely murdered as a NT I think. What I saw at the Senior Bowl was a "pursuit" player that doesn't like to get in the phonebooth and get physical with an OL. Once the linemen gets locked in the battle is over, I saw this in the Navy game too.

I don't think Laws is a NT either... where did I say that?
