I realize these guys make money and are very dedicated, but can you honestly tell me having football players is a more important then having cops or firemen?

Just like 99% of politicians, this is just about laying the grounds for his next re-election. He is from Pennsylvania, and he wants to tell the PA constituency that he is going after the team that beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl and knocked the Steelers out of the AFC Championship.

This kind of behavior can be expected from a politician, what disturbs me the most is that the NFL seems to be taking him seriously. With baseball and steroids, I can understand government involvement.... US laws were broken. But there is no U.S. law against videotaping signals.... that is an NFL rule, and no level of government has any business questioning the head of a non-governmental organization for suspected foul play.

I really think it sets a bad precedent and we should petition our elected officials for a "separation of sports and state" amendment :-)

I disagree with the "it's just a game" statement. This is a profession at this level. It's a game in highschool.

What are you going to do though... take their Superbowls away? Then what, give them to no one? Nothing will be done, he's kicking a dead horse.

Okay where is this Senater's proof. He has 0 PROOF. Even if the scout/cameraman comes clean he offers no proof. Until then the Senator is just flopping his gums ignorantly to sound like a big man.

Might be enough to open an investigation but then Goodell has shown he will talk to the government but wont let them dictate to him like baseball's Bud Selig has. So the Government is wasting it's time anyway unless Goodell becomes a weak pawn like they are in the baseball front offices.
