McFadden has great potential, but I see Marion Barber as a special running back. That guy is Mike Tyson on the football field. He wants to hurt people and that's rare for a running back. I have no clue why Jones wants to deal him and much much more for a player who hasn't taken an NFL snap yet. If the Dolphins can get good value for their pick then I say trade it, you need the extra picks and Chris Long alone won't help an old Parcells in the playoffs.

Of course Chris Long alone won't help, but you build ****ing talent in the draft over the next four years.
Like I said, it takes patience, and panicing just because you don't have a lot of talent now doesn't help the situation. Look at what Parcells did in 1997. Could have had Orlando Pace, the most legit LT prospect in the history of the Draft (Mandarich most hyped, but we didn't have a prototype LT yet) and he passed on Pace for James ****ing Farrior.
The history of the draft is important and to simply ignore it is disrespectful.
If you don't learn from the past, then you won't know the future.2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)
Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

As much as I love Long though, the point I was making was I'd rather have more picks. Especially day one picks. If you have a team that's 1-15 chances are your round 3,4, and maybe even 5 aren't drafting for depth. That whole roster will most likely get torn apart so I'd rather have 3 extra picks in day 1 than just the #1 overall.

Did you need read my example about Orlando Pace and how Parcells totally ****ed up the Jets future which still exists today by passing up on Orlando Pace?
I just hate how I put hours of work into this, and it just goes in one ear (if that) and out the other. I mean did you just totally ignore everything I wrote?
I mean I'm not going to make you read it, but even when I follow up with a post on this thread and you totally ignore the Jets 1997 Draft it just ticks me off.
Think I'm an idiot. Okay whatever. But go and ask siena or KClemens how much better the Jets would be today if they had Orlando Pace for the past 10 seasons. Ask them how much an elite left tackle can mean to an offense? Overrated that then look at how messed up the Rams where this year after they lost Pace last season. He was their offense by playing left tackle.
Look it just really pisses me off when people who think they know what they are talking about don't do the research to study the history of this game, the draft, and how to build an NFL franchise. But if you come out and say something when it has no historical backing then the point is not taken. Period.Last edited by Matt McGuire; 02-14-2008, 03:17 AM.2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Plus Pace would have done a much better job of protecting Testaverde, Pennington, and Clemens' backside instead of Jumbo Elliot, Jason Fabini (both weren't bad, but nothing special) and other clowns they plugged in at LT over the years. He also would have made the running game that much more easier for C-Mart.WalterFootball.com Forum Moderator

Hey Matt. Bill Parcells finds it entertaining to listen to. He enjoys seeing fools speak out of ignorance. I said I would make the deal but didn't say it would happen so I no fool. However the NFLN and ESPN will look aweful and Parcells will be chuckling in the Dolphins War Room.If you like quality gaming, conversation, and crazy antics of Chunder, the live stream of Chunderfluff, live, on Twitch.com. Huh?
Fact of the matter is when the Dolphins take Chris Long #1 overall I want all of you doubters to eat your crow. Secondly, I get more respect.
If Miami does do something different, I think they are idiots but I'm wrong. It happens though, there is no expert who is going to be right 100% of the time...impossible.2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Matt, people are just saying they would make the trade if they were the Dolphins, I don’t know why you are getting so angry. You are not defined by your football opinions. Don’t be attached to them to where you get so condescending. Everybody appreciates the work you put in.
