  • Chiefs to cut Ty Law, would like to return to the Pats

The Chiefs are expected to release Law instead of paying him a $6.5 million base salary in 2008, according to The Boston Globe. If Law is released, those close to him say he would be open to the possibility of a return to the Patriots at the right price. Law, 33, spent his first 10 seasons in New England before joining the Jets for 2005 and the Chiefs the last two seasons.

Good move for NE if they can't get him for a small salary.

Law isn't that good at all anymore. Could be a good #3 but that's it.

Smart move by KC...I don't think Law has much left. He has a Super Bowl why doesn't he just retire? He has plenty of money.

He loves to play. If he takes a reduced role in stride he can do like Robert Parish in the NBA. Play well when called upon but not spectacular. That would keep him from becoming a relic and still allow him to play.

Solid reserve for the Pats. What do they have to lose?
