The player whose stock went up the most in this game is Harry Douglas WR UL. He isn't a product of the system. He is fast and he really has great hands. Great with YAC. Imo, he is now a first round NFL draft prospect. With a good 40 time he could be a first round lock.
BIG PLAYERS...MAKE BIG PLAYS...IN BIG GAMES.
Andre' Woodson is a great football player and imo he just backs me up in my evaluation that he is now 5 star NFL Draft prospect. He made a HUGE play with :28 seconds left on a 57 yard bomb for the game winner. Mentally he's got ice in his veins. He steps up and make big plays when his team needs him to. Watch the play action 65 yard play to DeMoreo Ford in the Music City Bowl last year. He is in the mold of Carson Palmer and he now becomes the clear consensus #1 QB in the 2007 NFL Draft.
Brian Brohm's stock goes down a little bit in the minds of NFL scouts. While his deep ball accuracy can be amazing, he isn't going to have all day to throw the ball in the NFL. He is going to have to makes plays with his legs: run for short-medium gains, roll out of the pocket and throw on the run, and to summarize just improvise. He showed a lot of poise when UK had momentum and he made some great great throws. But when it comes down to it, he is a little overrated because his offense is designed so well. On a few intermediate throws a few of his throws are just off, and when he misses he misses behind his receivers. Not to say Woodson is Mr. Perfect. He missed a few throws in this game that could have been big and he misses high sometimes. But you can't debate with his 250 or so pass attempts with an interception. Brohm sometimes careless throws when his receivers aren't wide open. He simply isn't on the same level as Andre' Woodson and it showed in this game.
Jacob Tamme in my mind could emerge as the best TE in the country. He made a TD catch with a LBer all over him, one handed and he is just Mr. Clutch. His deep threat speed showed. I don't think he is on the same level of Greg Olsen, but he is a very solid mid-late round 2 draft pick.
Wesley Woodyard didn't have a very good game imo. He is a round 6-7 draft prospect. He just doesn't have the size to be a starter in the NFL.
Eric Scott (C, UK) had a good game. Athletic. Room for more bulk on his frame. A late round prospect great fit in a ZBS scheme but I think he can play in about any scheme except for a Pittsburgh type offense that relies on pounding the ball with bigger lineman.
Malik Jackson (OLB, UL) had a below average game. He isn't as fast as his 4.6 40 time would indicate. Didn't make any big stops when UL needed it. Late round prospect.
Mario Urrutia's stock takes a huge dip in this game. He is soft. He might be 6'6 220, but he plays like 5'10 190. Scared to get hit, doesn't make circus catches. Brohm really doesn't trust him and he relies on Douglas quite a bit, and rightly so. Urrutia won't come out for this draft, but if he did he is a round 5-6 prospect.
