  • Reggie Bush: Most Overrated Player in NFL

Can't run between the tackles. Dances too much instead of hitting the hole. Fumbles.

    Houston Texans 2-0
    New Orleans Saints 0-2

Yeah. Horrible draft pick Texans. Shoulda went with Reggie Bush.

Feel free guys to eat your crow. Mario Williams is an absolute stud. I can't wait to see Colts/Texans if I get it in my region.
    2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

I still maintain that the Texans should have went with Bush or Young. Imagine how explosive that offense would be with Bush in the backfield.

I know he's dancing too much right now, but he didn't do that last year. He'll get things together.

Williams only had 1 tackle last game against the Panthers, and only 4.5 sacks last season. He is good against the run.

      People do have bad games.
      Carolina Panther's GM

      1. #17 - Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
      2. #37 - Ali Highsmith, OLB, LSU
      2. #43 - Jonathan Hefney, FS, Tennessee
      3. #74 - John David Booty, QB, USC
      3. #82 - Dre Moore, DT, Maryland
      4. #107 - Matt Forte, RB, Tulane

True, but remember that Bush had problems last year running the ball between the tackles, he had concerns with this coming out of USC, and he is actually regressing this season than progressing as a player.

It's not like Bush showed improvement in his weaknesses last year and then all of a sudden is playing up to that level this year. This has been a continual problem.

Not as explosive as you might think. Did you know New Orleans has only scored 24 points Walter? Mario Williams has more touchdowns than Reggie Bush...yeah, thats pretty explosive?

Have you seen Mario Williams play this year Walter? Obviously you haven't. Without Mario, the Texans are not 2-0 imo.

Also, while I am going to eat a little Crow and say I was very impressed with VY's performance this week, Matt Schuab is far and away a better QB than VY right now...and it isn't even close. His throws are on the mark, he has a stronger arm, and he can stay in the pocket and take a hit. Exactly what the doctor ordered for Houston's offense.

I'm also going to eat crow and say that Jacksonville is a lot worse than I thought they would be (good call so far Craig even though they won last week)...still early in the seaosn and they have the talent all around to make a run...

But the Saints don't. Charles Grant and Will Smith don't have a sack. Their whole defense is really bad and imo played way above their heads last season. Their OL is unimpressive and Jamaal Brown isn't healthy.

The Saints are a mess in the trenches, and when you're weak in the trenches, it's impossible to win games.

Who wins next MNF: Tennessee or New Orleans?

Where is the game at Walter? I think the Tennessee receivers are stepping up (despite Brandon Jones' big drop last week) and their running game will dominate vs. the Saints. Their defense is good enough to stop the Saints enough...it should be a very close game no matter who wins.

It'll be at New Orleans, which actually isn't good for the Saints, who have a habit of playing better on the road.

Brandon Jones' drop really hurt. That would have set up the game-winning field goal.

Just to touch on a few topics in this thread.

I thought Mario Williams was hands down the best prospect in the draft last year. But also felt that Houston made a mistake in taking him #1 overall instead of Bush. Especially if they new Dominik Davis' injury was career threatening.

But its kind of like a double edged sword with Bush, he has all the talent in the world, but i don't think he will ever be a "Every Down/Feature Back" in the NFL like Laurence Maroney, Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden will be.

As for Jacksonville, yea, and i think they hurt themselves even worse by releasing Leftwich for an "Athletic QB" in Garrard. Nothing against Garrard, but athletic QB's tend to get hurt far more then pocket passers. IF something happens to Garrard, then what do the Jags have? They have to try to win with Quinn Gray. They should have just threw full support behind Garrard and forced Leftwich to sit the bench this season as a back up. And Maurice Jones-Drew is following through as i predicted as well. Fantasy owners who thought this was really going to be his year are crying so far. He has failed to hit the endzone and failed to crack the 33yrd rushing mark in a game.

As for New Orleans, its hard to comment, i havent been able to catch a New Orleans game this year. But i had my doubts about them this year anyways. I was worried that Marques Colston and Devery Henderson were one year wonders and a product of the system that Sean Payton brought with him. It looks to be the case and now the defenses have had a whole offseason to study it they are getting shut down by averagedefenses (at best). But then again their only two opponents have both been Tampa-2 teams. Perhaps thats his offense's achilles heel.

Good post Craig...but how can you say Mario was the #1 overall player on your board, but then Houston taking him #1 overall with a huge need at DE in a divison where you have to stop the Colts to win it was a mistake?

I mean good call on the Jags Craig, I have to give it to you but it is a long season and we know the talent is there. I said all along the Jags would regret passing up on Brady Quinn. How stupid do they look now...

...THEY ARE IN THE SAME BOAT AS THE RAIDERS THIS YEAR. Had they taken Leinart in 2006, they then take Calvin Johnson #1 overall and their offense is money for years to come.

Jaguars coulda takent Quinn this year, and then have a lot more flexibility but it looks they like will take Woodson/Brohm/Ryan in the first round.

                          Its a matter of opinion.

Even with a dominant D-line your not going to get after Manning that much. And just pressuring Manning doesn't usually phase him. The best way to beat the Colts in my opinion is a grinding, ball control offense. Its to keep him off the field as much as possible.

A perfect example is the Super Bowl. Chicago has a defense that on most nights can pressure any QB, stuff any run game and cover any tandem of receivers. But Manning still beat them. Because the Chicago's offense couldn't stay on the field.

But then again they proably wouldnt be able to pull off the ball control with Bush either...

Give Bush a year or 2 and He'll be a top back for sure. He's the most athletic guy in the league now that Dog lover Vick is gone

True good point on defending the Colts...but that is only 2 out of 16 games a year and I was just making one small point. Mario has shown the ability to take over ball games much like guys like Michael Strahan, Julius Peppers, and Simeon Rice in their primes...Now I'm not saying Mario has been consistent enough yet to be a future HOF or anything but you have to be impressed with his effort and we knew he had the highest upside of anyone in hte 2006 draft.
