  • Bengals Acquire Jets DT Dewayne Robertson

The New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms on a trade that would send defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson to the Bengals in exchange for Cincinnati’s fourth- and fifth-round picks (Nos. 114 and 151) in the upcoming draft, according to league sources.

Wow, I think the Bengals got a steal here. Robertson was a top 5 or top 10 pick just a couple of years ago... a 4-3 DT who did not do well as a 3-4 NT last year. Bengals are getting a bargain.

They did get a steal I pegged him as worth a 3rd round pick I think the Jets got ripped off.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Damn...I wish the Eagles would have made a bid for him. We need to add someone solid since Patterson will likely get suspended for chiefin' dank nuggies in his car...

I think the Jets did get ripped off, but Robinson didn't do a ton last year.

Robertson didn't do much because he was surrounded by trash AND he doesn't fit the 3-4. He'd of had a few trips to Hawaii if he had been in a 4-3 since his rookie year. He was an absolute monster at UK.

You don't have to remind me. The kid wasn't the #4 pick in the draft for nothing. He is going to be beast mode in Cincinnati. I'd even say it was a better pickup than Shaun Rogers.

                Question:

Isn't Cincinnatti talking about going to the 3-4? If so, this doesn't sound like a good move on the Bengals part.

People (fans) have been talking about it. Not the Bengals.

He played in a 4-3 under Herm and was a disappointment. Not horrible but they were hoping for better. He was improving though.

Plus, The Jets traded up into that #4 spot to get Robertson a few years ago. I'm still baffled as to why Mangini insists on running the 3-4, when the talent he inherited was better suited to the 4-3. In the last week, they've traded away two former 1st Rounders for second day picks because the didn't "Fit the System". Here's a crazy idea, create your System around your Defense, not your Defense around your System, you might get better results.
