  • Big Ben Makes History in Pitt

Did anyone see the new contract the Steelers offered Roethilisberger? It's insane and there is no way he is worth that much. Not even a top QB in the league. I say they wasted their money

I don't think either one is very good both way over hyped because of the towns they play in... and well one of them because of his last name can u guess which one?

        Roethlisberger? LOL

Seriously though, it helps that they've both won Super Bowls in thier 1st 5 seasons in the league, even if it was primarily because of thier defenses. No way Rivers is gonna get that kind of bank yet. They are both very good young QBs, but $100M is a bit nuts for anybody.

I think it's a good deal. He is only 26, has a super bowl ring already. Played superb last season, which proved he recovered from his motorcycle accident.

It DOES help, apparently, that the ownership forgot that their qb had the lowest rating in the history of the NFL for a SB winning qb.

Once a hater and always a hater... Ben is not good haha sorry I'm one of the biggest haters and feel he is WAY overrated because of his success... The Bears post in here said how we won with Orton and hes no good... see its more about his team than his skill when he won

I'll admit I'm a hater too, but I have serious bias...I had to live in Pittsburgh going to school while watching my Hawks get tossed out of SB XL like a bunch of underage kids at a t*tty bar. I felt like the guys in striped shirts were the bouncers.

                  Yeah I said it...what...what?

100M is a lot of money, but I think Ben is a top QB in this league. Throw out his season where he had the motorcycle crash and appendectomy. His numbers are great. I could give two sh*ts less about his QB rating in a Superbowl game that they won (He still had a good game and scored a TD). He plays behind a terrible offensive line and still keeps plays alive with his legs and wins games.

LOL, he had a good game? What game are we talking about here? I am actually a closet fan of Big Ben...if he was on any team other than the Stealers then he'd be one of my fav's in the league, but he sucked in that game. Evidenced by his rating. He scored one of the most controversial td's in SB history also. That play is still talked about. I can only recall one good play he made when he scrambled away from a sack and tossed a lollipop across his body to a wide open Hines Ward. If not for the unbelievably horrid secondary (insurance salesman one week, SB cornerback two weeks later) on that play it would have been one of the easiest picks ever. The only good thing he did was scramble and get lucky on the throw. Other than that he looked rattled and off his game. Granted, this last season he was pretty damn good.

And with that awful passer rating they still won the game and he still managed a 101.7 passer rating through out the playoffs. What's your point? That 3rd and 28 throw you're talking about (If I'm thinking of the right one) was made on Kelly Jennings with saftey help over the top. Ben had a easy TD dropped by Ward. He converted key third downs, and even though he was uneasy in the first half, he played great in the second.

As for the controversial call? All I have to say about controversial calls is the Tuck Rule. If Big Ben isnt' a good QB because the refs gave him a TD then Tom Bradys Legacy has one less Superbowl because he blew the game with an obvious fumble.

i think that he is a great qb but sometimes takes waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to long in making descicions in the pocket.
