  • Former DE/OLB Calvin Pace signs big deal with Jets

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3275059

This REALLY changes things for their Draft. In my next mock I had them taking Gholston but I will change that to McFadden the week after Walter relases my updated mock.l
    2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Of course they overpaid, but I like Pace's potential to thrive with the Jets. The deal won't look so dumb if everything goes as planned.

Wow this is horrible! He had 1 good year! Dammit Tangini. You better still draft Gholston.

"Jets signed RT Damien Woody to a five-year, $25.5 million contract. The deal includes $11 million in guarantees."

I'm from az...Pace did nothing for his first 3 years, then had a pretty good season when we switched to a 3-4. He should continue to be good but the Jets definitely overpaid. I would rather see him leave than match that price.

I have no idea why they would pay Woody that kind of money. He couldn't even start for the worst offensive line in the league!!

Ones where he has actually played well.

I think Pace will be a great fit for the Jets. He's a true contributer for a 3-4

But seriously a note on the Jets shelling out these high priced contracts. The guarenteed money part sucks and all but hey they might be front loaded. That wouldn't be the worst thing. So if one of these guys sucks after 2 or 3 years they can cut his ass without losing future money. Basically the opposite of Mo Vaughn and the Mets (remember that one I think the Mets are paying him through this year, seriously). So I dunno I'm just trying to find a little light on this situation.

I hope Pace is legit, Jets draft Gholston to replace Bryan "I should have been Ed Reed" Thomas who sucks ass. They overpaid on Woody because he's a former Mangini Patriot player who is can play anywhere on the line. There those are the justifications.
