Boss & Champ? Was their mother on crack?

More importantly though this is Denver's second linebacking move this offseason. Despite the fact that Boss only earned one start from Walter, it will be very interesting to see if he plays at a higher level thanks to a bit of sibling rivalry with Champ. Because of this he might outplay Ian Gold, who was cut earlier.

Given the failure to land any of the big (no pun intended) DTs in free agency, I think it increasingly likely that Denver turns to this need in the draft, maybe even using 2 of their top 3 picks on DTs. Hopefully none of these have problems with "leafy green substances" though.

After their moves in the offseason, I think that we can rule out Connor or Rivers in the first. I've also heard that the Broncos front office is happy with their group of receivers, so Malcolm Kelly, DeSean Jackson, etc are out of consideration. That leaves Glenn Dorsey if he falls, Kenny Phillips, and Ryan Clady or Chris Williams. Of them, I think Phillips is the most-likely pick.

No doubt. The Detroit people had been talking all year about him not making it past this season, and this being about the worst defensive team in the league.

Maybe Denver is banking that Champ can get in his brother's ear and the sibling rivalry thing to excell Boss to the place he can be close to the player they though he could be out of collage.

I sure hope they don't pick Phillips. I just don't like the direction he's been heading the last 12 months. He's not Sean Taylor and he's not LaRon Landry, he's just (probably) the best safety out of a very, very weak class. Big reach at 12 IMO.

Phillips has dropped. His 40 was way worse than I thought it would be (expected at least a 4.45) and his overall Combine performance was not inspiring. They should go after Balmer or another D-Lineman to help the LB's they have.
