  • I was thinking

i was thinking about the clock being shortened for each pick and i realized how horrible some teams are going to draft. Some teams did bad enough last year but think about how bad some teams drafts are going to be.

I don't think the shortened clock will affect the draft much.

shortened clock won't bother the Lions as long as a WR is on the board.

Shortened clocks dont matter. I think unless a trade is being discussed that they spend the last 5 minutes planning on how much booze and how many cigars they need for the pre-draft party.

I doubt any of you know this but I've often wondered how long all the paperwork takes to be agreed upon, typed up, faxed back and forth and signed, then sent to the commisioners office or where ever on draft day for trades. That's gotta take more than 10 mins right?

Let me rephrase that a little. I've...wondered...on draft day more than once.

But I like the background stuff. I'd like to work in a Front Office in the NFL doing something along these lines preferably with money.

The Teams pretty much already know who they are going to take in a given situation. The shortened clock will just affect the trades.

Most teams already know who they will draft in the first round and they know their range ... they just have to narrow it to 2-3 guys 5 picks before they pick. Then they debate about who they will take the pick before...but 95% of the work is done before draft day.

They just waited for time wiating for trading partners and this won't happen now. Great move by Goodell.

A lot of teams had great drafts...some have bad drafts. It will always be that way it is just the nature of this event. It is trying to predict certainity in an uncertain world.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.
