  • Do the Dolphins need a QB?

    Josh McCown
    1,052 - ATT, 609 - Comp, (57.9%), 35 - TD’s, (40) - INT’s to go with
    39 - fumbles and 14 - fumbles lost. (71.6) Career QB rating.

    John Beck
    107 - ATT, 60 - Comp, (56.1%), 1 - TD’s, (3) - INT’s to go with
    7 - fumbles and 5 - fumbles lost. (62.0) Career QB rating.

I don’t know about you, but if I’m a defensive coordinator I’m not to worried about either of the top two QB’s on the Dolphins roster.

    2007

    Cleo Lemon
    309 - ATT, 173 - Comp, (56.0%), 6 - TD’s, (6) - INT’s to go with
    7 - fumbles and 3 - fumbles lost. (72.6) QB rating.

    Trent Green
    141 - ATT, 85 - Comp, (60.3%), 5 - TD’s, (7) - INT’s to go with
    2 - fumbles and 0 - fumbles lost. (72.6) QB rating.

    John Beck
    107 - ATT, 60 - Comp, (56.1%), 1 - TD’s, (3) - INT’s to go with
    7 - fumbles and 5 - fumbles lost. (62.0) QB rating.

Now given the facts how can anyone say they are set at QB for 2008?

IMO There is not one QB on their roster who is of NFL stating material.
Both Cleo Lemon and Trent Green had better QB ratings in 2007 then any QB currently on their roster.
As far as I’m concerned Josh McCown is nothing more then a back-up QB and a replacement for Cleo Lemon and Trent Green.

To answer my own question……Yes the Dolphins need a QB

Anyone who expects a rookie QB to score 30 TDs has unrealistic expectation.

Is there a statistic for ****ty OLs, RBs, TEs, etc.? No it is subjective scouting.

That offense is terrible and it isn't all the QBs fault.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Terry Bradshaw and John Elway both had poor rookie seasons, this much is true, but I’m not willing to put John Beck in the same category as the above mentioned QB’s

Yes their OL was bad in 2007, but a bad QB can also make a OL look bad.
I think they are okay at RB….Not a pressing need for this team. Their WR position could use an up-grade, but still not as pressing a need as QB.

                  I’m not going to sit here and say they must absolutely pick Matt Ryan with the 1st pick in the draft. However;
I will not waver on the fact that they need a QB. At least nobody has given me any reason to change my mind.

Because they can wait until the 2nd round and take a Brohm if he's there or Henne. They have 2 picks in the round.

Well they had better take one with the 32nd pick, because chances are by the #57 pick they will be off the board. Henne will not get passed Chicago at pick #44 the Ravens have a pick at #38. The Falcons have three picks in the 2nd round. #34, # 37 and # 48 it’s a pretty good bet they will try and get a QB with one of those picks. The Packers could also be in the market for a QB
                      With the #56 pick.

I haven’t seen one mock draft showing the Dolphins taking a QB with the 32 pick.

The Dolphins need a QB but they need upgrades at almost every position too.

the packers will probable take quarterbacks with both of their first two picks.

hey did you guys hear the news that "mathematics" the discipline is retiring the number 4 in honor of brett favre? from now on kids will skip from 3 to 5 when they learn to count.
