Just to let you know what is up for 2008 (7th round pick goes to the Broncos) all the the late round trading we did for 2009.

I think we traded for Griese to turn him into a higher draft pick later on ... I am glad we are trading away our late round picks because quite frankly 6th and 7th round picks aren't going to be good enough to make this team.

late round picks help create roster competition though, so there is some benefit to having them around.

Roster competition for the practice squad. That's how deep our team is.

And Michael Bennett & Ryan Sims don't create competition? Brian Griese is better than any late round QB in this draft and we might be able to trade him for more value later on.
