  • Matt McGuire's Updated 2008 NFL Mock Draft - Sept. 25

I think it's solid. I like Malcolm Kelly going high, I think he has really raised his stock enough.

DeMarcus Granger could go Top 10, you're right, Matt.

Love the Texan and Steeler selections. Bold, but could definitely come to fruition.

I think Sam Baker goes lower than No. 5, and I think Earl Bennett doesn't go so high. I wouldn't lower DeSean Jackson either.

A few notes on my mock:

The order was done by ESPN's power rankings, but I made 2 switches. The first was at the top of the draft so I could get it to "work"...other one was me being a Tampa homer and pissed that they had the Eagles ahead of the Bucs...who now looked to be favored to win the South.
    2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Why is the Texan pick bold, in your opinion...WR, RB, and DB are their biggest needs. Stewart presents the biggest upside of any player available and he presents very good value at the same time.

Why do you say Bennett doesn't go so high? He might be the best pure receiver in college football and he has good speed to boot.

DeSean Jackson hasn't produced. He hasn't shown he can be an NFL starter at WR.

He is going where he is supposed to go at this point in time.

some new and interesting names, paticularilly in the top 10.

Although to comment on the detroit pick.

I think they will go CB in round one this year, but if they were totake a LB at that spot, i got Laurenitis over Rivers any day. Rivers may be versatile, but the Strong Side spot in the Tampa 2 scheme seems to be the most insignificat postiion in the entire defense, look at the players who play it on most teams. Hunter Hillenmeyer, Freddie Keiaho, Boss Bailey, Ryan Nece (before adding Cato June). Its just guys that don't produce a whole lot.

That said, again i think they would go Laurenitis, and take the pure Inside guy.

This is an easy one that i can answer.

Both are are a lock to go in the top 10 and both are top 5 candidates.

And at the same time, how can you say they won't?

If you can support your argument on why Brian Brohm is better then I have no problem with it. The thing is, you can not.

Anything you say about Brohm, Andre' does just as good if not better. He is simply a better player.

Missed your comment Craig my bad. I think you are right here. You make a good point about SLBs in the Tampa 2. They probably would go with Laurenitis over Rivers.

I was thinking Rivers though because of the upside, but I counter that with Laurenitis having just as much upside.

Also you say Atlanta is the only team that would take Woodosn over Brohm...then why do you have him rated higher than Woodson on your big board?

                              Makes no sense.
