  • Lane Kiffin Doesn't Want McFadden??

Coach Lane Kiffin said Tuesday that the Raiders are happy with their running back situation and are unlikely to draft Darren McFadden.

"Kiffin doesn't call the personnel shots in Oakland and may not even be in the know as far as owner Al Davis' line of thinking, so take this with a grain of salt. Kiffin also has never exactly been straightforward with the media."

Al Davis will take McFadden still. I'm not surprised if Kiffin punches Davis in the nose and Davis' head falls off when they draft Run DMC.

As if Al Davis would listen to Kiffin anyway.

Hm, Davis didn't listen to Kiffin who didn't want Jamarcus Russell last year. So it doesn't matter if he doesn't want Mcfadden (and any sane person would want that).

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Yea. Davis is going to take another overrated player or one with personal problems and pray he works out. Unfortunately Pimp Daddy Mcfadden has both.

McFadden or Gholston are the only choices there IMO.

I dont think Dorsey is a good fit with any 3-4 team. I asked Matt about New England drafting him at 7 forgetting that NE played in a 3-4.

I think Oakland needs to bulk up their pass rush and offensive line before anything. I would think Gholeston first if he is there and an offensive lineman in Round 2 since there are so many quality linemen in the draft. If Gholeston is gone then you look at other options.

Is Oakland switching to the 3-4? I thought they ran a 4-3.

I'm not sure. I saw one game last year and they switched up a lot in that game from what I saw.

I'm pretty sure they are primarily a 4-3.

Oakland is the 4-3...if Burgess gets some pressure they could be good defensively and surprise some people, but they don't have an OL or runnign game...

If Russell gets his act together they could win 9-10 games...but as walter says that is a "BIG IF"

Doesn't surprise me at all. Oakland is pretty set at running back with Fargas and Jordan splitting carries, and Bush to take over for Jordan eventually. I thought all along they'd pass on McFadden and take Dorsey/Ellis.

How do you figure they don't have a running game? Did you not watch Oakland the second half of the season?

I think they draft him to force Jerry Jones hand to trade up to get him. If they do not draft him and draft someone else chances are they will be left holding the the player and the number four pick and all its cost.

Jerry Jones isn't trading into the top 10 for Darren McFadden...he probably won't trade up at all for him.
