  • why the packers will win with rodgers

and why ted thompson and mike mccarthy are great team leaders.

an excerpt from an article talking about replacing favre--

Thompson said the fact Rodgers has sat for three years learning under Favre has helped ready him for his new position. Still, he recognizes that filling Favre's shoes is a monumental task, and so his plan is to take pressure off Rodgers by beefing up other areas of the team.

So far, the only significant move he has made is signing free-agent linebacker Brandon Chillar, but he is armed with eight draft picks, including three in the top 60 and could recruit some help that way. It appears he's mostly counting on his current roster to improve.

"I think people understand that mentally and emotionally the practical matter of replacing a guy like that it's still a little bit - I've used this term before - it's a little daunting," Thompson said. "But it's the task we're given and I think rather than put it on the shoulder of one person, like you'd probably do - 'Aaron Rodgers has to take over' - I think it has to be a team effort, an organizational effort to do that because this is really special circumstances."

The Pack is a good team so they will definitely "win". But not having Favre will certainly cost them at least a couple.

I think they can win with Rodgers because Rodgers is an extremely talented QB.

I think he is better than Matt Ryan as a prospect...that's how highly rated he was.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

I agree he is better then Ryan. Ryan is a guy who would go in the 2nd in most drafts.

LOL your smoking crack 49ers fan...Ryan is a first round talent. Is he top 6 talent? I don't think so, and he would go in any first round of any draft.

The Packers will lose experience and leadership above all else. But I think they will still win 9 games at the very least. After this draft maybe more than last year.

he doesn't really compare though when you bring colt brennan into the equation. 60 td's pretty much makes him NFL mvp. just saying.

I agree, if Brennan can throw 60 TDs in college than he can probably do it in the pros too.

I mean the guy showed at the senior bowl he's willing to work on his footwork and fundamentals, and at the combine he got his weight up too. probably a top 100 lock. anything past 50 and he's the steal of the draft.

I think his Rainbow visor shows that he's a team player. Loyalty is a big factor in the NFL so that should help is draft stock too. Also his comparison to Chad Pennington should help. Besides the down years, Pennington has had a pretty good career.

i believe there is a misconception about pennington and his arm strength. it was really the injuries that sidelines him and started his downfall--more of a confidence thing. brennan is far more accurate and poised though than pennington, who albeit was still a playoff qb.
