  • NFL Films Presents...Top 10 Power Backs

I saw this show on NFLN last night. man it was pretty good. they are:
    10. Mike Alstott
    9. Christian Okoye
    8. Bronko Nagurski
    7. Marion Motley
    6. Jerome Bettis
    5. Jim Taylor
    4. Larry Csonka
    3. Earl Campbell
    2. John Riggins
    1. Jim Brown

these guys were just amazing to watch.

i know he didn't deserve to be on the list, and i missed the first few minutes, so he might have been mentioned, but i thought ahman green should've been mentioned as "considered" for leading the league in total yards from 00-04. or whatever that five year stretch was. man he ran as angry as anyone.

still, i know he doesn't compare to those guys.

Sucks that Christian Okoye and Earl Campbell had their careers cut short. They were both tremendous to watch. Earl Campbell has a disgusting highlight reel. His run against the Rams is possibly my favorite run of all time.

Jim Brown is the greatest RB to even touch the field along with the greatest power RB.

I honestly think Jerome Bettis is an overrated power runner. He didn't ram into people like Christian Okoye, Earl Campbell, Jim Brown, Larry Csonka, Mike Alstott. He was a great RB with good feet, but he used to many finesse moves to be ranked #6 imo.

I've watched every game of Bettis' career since he became a Steeler and I wouldn't even rank him top 10 as a power runner.

ok. come to think of it most of his steeler highlights were just him being fat. with the rams he was pretty tough though. do you think ahman green was a better power runner? i once watched him run over two linebackers and a safety in the same play.

that was a tough run but one play doesn't make a top 10 power back

Tell the Bettis thing to Brian Urlacher. He got runover by a freight train in 2005 when Bettis was on his last legs. I agree, Campbell should be #2 and Okoye should be in top 5.

I agree that Bettis changed as a runner as his career advanced. He could certainly be a thumper when with the Rams.
