Jacksonville SN reported the terms of the deal not disclosed. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default...ABN4143334.htm

John Clayton said his deal makes him an elite QB...didn't know how much money you made dictated how good you were.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

For a 30 year old, 6'1" QB who has one full year as a starter, who played in an offense that facilitated a successful stint from Quinn Gray, $60M may be an ugly deal, even though its backloaded. Not to mention that as he ages his legs will slow down.

With QBs I think age isn't too much of an issue. Look at Todd Collins, an "old" man who came in and almost got the skins to the divisional weekend until they fell behind late and he tossed a couple of pick 6s.

As for Garrard's deal, well, 60 mil sounds like a lot, but depending on the structure of the contract, it could depend a lot on his performance.

60 mil is alot. I dont know how they can give him that kind of money when he has only started one year and its not like he was unstopable last year. I mean he was preety good last year but he is just asked to manage the game they dont ask him to go out and make big plays. I could see giving him about 40 or 45 mil but not 60.

This is just another poor move in what is shaping up to be an offseason full of poor moves for this team. Not only is he 30 but he is the definition of a system quaterback. He had one good year with soild not great numbers and he gets 60 mil you have to be kidding.

Not that it makes the deal any different really but I think it was for 7yrs not 6

                            80/144, 56.5%, 986 yds, 10/5 td/int.

Not bad for a guy who had to look for work at the end of the season.

It is different when that old QB is set apart by his legs. Legs age alot faster than arms.
