My first post so we shall see.
Now the Cleveland Browns 2007 Draft I feel was pretty dang successful. Now the Brady Quinn trade was questionable but Derek Anderson I do not believe will be the long term answer. He was Dan Marino against the poor Cincy pass defense but was average aganst the Raiders good defense. Now I admit that the verdict is still in the air on him but if Quinn gets time to develope off the field for a year or two he will be a great quarterback. Joe Thomas has played well for the Browns. He will be a star. The cornerback Wright will also be a good player but that may take time.
The 2008 draft. No first round picks. RB's Mike Hart and Ray Rice may be available at that position. However the Browns biggest need lies on defense. Their line is so old someone may fall over from a heart attack on the field. Ted Washington is turning into a fat Abe Simpson, Granted every now and then the Sergent Abe from WW2 still he is old and Gilbert Brown slow. They need linemen because they have a great linebacking core and they get beat on way too much. Leigh Bodden has been injured for two years and Wright is no where near ready to be a number 1 corner. Their safeties are solid, but their corners need work and line just flat sucks. Joe Jurevicius is a great number three however doesn't have the natural skill to be a number 2. If Josh Cribbs continues to improve he may fill that role next year but they should draft someone in the middle rounds just in case he doesn't. They need to address the Running Back, D-Line, Cornerback, and Reciever in this draft. Even without a #1 the draft is not as much a loss as many experts and execs would like you to believe. I believe the Browns are only a few players from causing major problems for opponents. This Draft could help that in many ways.
