No seriously. It is acting. This "Kiper arguing with people" crap didn't start happening until the last few years. It generates hype and ratings.

These guys are the tools of ESPN used to manipulate viewers into watching the draft. The mocks, big boards and so on are all gimmicks and schemes to keep their names fresh in the minds of sports fans.

They are not to be taken seriously. These guys aren't idiots. They're geniuses because they're playing us for fools. Todd and Mel masquerade as experts when they're really just entertaining us and hyping the draft.

"Logical" does not generate ratings and attention. Stupid picks that generate controversy and hatred do. This is the first time I ever heard of this new mock from Todd. The picks are too stupid. They exist so Kiper can tear them apart. A few days from now, it will be (slightly) more sensible.

Everything is an act. McShay and Kiper are not experts because they're not supposed to be experts. They're just disguising themselves as experts. If ESPN actually wanted experts for the job, then they'd hire Walter and myself

This is exactly why he is a genius. His act is so believable that it drives people nuts when he does things like that. McShay is a man with absolutely no shame who gives up his integrity just for the sake of an additional few dollars.

The beauty of being a "draft guru" is that nobody can be wrong. The draft is an inexact science and is ultimately unpredictable. If these guys were incorrect that often at another job, they would be fired instantly. At ESPN, they're given raises and a guarantee of job security.

I just think beyond the first level and don't take everything I see at face value without though. People who do the latter are easily lured into Nigerian inheritance scams and pyramid schemes.

It is obvious that we'll never agree and I don't want to get on anyone's bad side since you seem to be a really nice guy. So, I'd prefer to make this my last post on the topic
